Verified, like some sites do to make sure they are not a fake nic. We take around 100 credible people and start a site together. Not sure what kind of site it would be, but it would be a team effort venture. Some of the traffic guys can send traffic, I can do the billing, graphic guys, coders, everyone can put in their knowledge and we can have one big massive Industry Site with Verified Adult Players.

All the money goes into a joint account and gets split equally after expenses.

Would this be Doable?

The idea is great, but I think the logistics of it all would require less players. And I'm certain there are NUMEROUS combinations of 10-15 people that could flip things upside down if they put their minds to it.

I may be game if the donation may be domains and/or expertise on domains. I have a bunch and have many ways to research the best to get if what I have isn't suitable. My only worry is with bad eggs spoiling the bunch, but hopefully it can be set up to where if someone just isn't pulling their weight or is screwing the process that they can be replaced. I myself have already gotten into enough working partnerships with absolute deadbeats for instance to be overtly thrilled with doing something like this, but it'd be worth a shot.

Yeah, that was my first thought. I like the idea, but doing it with 8-15 sounds like a much better amount. The nice thing about it is that you could be more aggressive with trying new ideas because everyone would have a limited investment. You should also be able to greatly cut down on your development time assuming you had a wide variety of skills throughout the group.

No. For a 100 reasons it wouldn't work. But the most important one is that it is hard to get 2 "partners" to work together without it blowing up, to get several that don't know each other that well to work together... It would be impossible.

And who is going to hold the money?

There is "working together" when different companies or people network together and do business in their own circle, try to crush the competition, etc...

and then there is "working together" when everyone is a partner on the same project, where they have no ownership, basically donate their time, have a small say so, etc...

1. A large group of people will never agree on the same logic, ideas, strategy.
2. Some people will work harder than others, some will bring more of value to the table. Some will do very little. The people doing most of the work will get frustraited.
3. Not many people will want to do extra work for free, especially when so many of us are busy.
4. Everyone will have a voice, no one leader calling the shots. It will be a cluster fuck for clashing egos.

Best bet you can do is hire 5 - 10 of the best people here to be a consultant so they can bring their knowledge to the table. hire another 5-10 people who are workers. You run the show, you decide what you want built. They consult/build it. They are paid a nominal fee + they get a small profit share. You retain 51% ownership, and you pay everything and call the shots taking into account their thoughts.

That is the ONLY way you going to get 10 - 20 people here to work together and it have any chance of being successful.

With the premium membership on DP and knowing the site is full of scamming cunts looking to make a quick buck off other peoples naivety it has just made me more careful about people instead of trust them as it is just a bought badge. Anyway what i would do,is to create tube site,where i would provide hosting,domain,traffic,and backlinks,and i would take one banner space on site,while other webmasters would send traffic and backlinks,and they would be able to submit unlimited videos with their own banners and codes,so that means this wont be based on share,but it would require monthly quota of sended traffic/backlinks to maintain partnership account.

This sounds like a good idea, but these projects rarely ever work out. In order for it to work, you have to have ONE, I repeat, ONE manager of the ENTIRE project, and then a group of people in their own respective specializations that simply do what they're asked to do without much debate. In other words, one chief, many Indians...one shepherd (or wolf), many sheep. In an industry like this where most of the players are wolves rather than sheep, it's tough to make this kind of thing work out. Be that as it may, I can do both the wolf role and the sheep role so I would have no problem helping out, though I'm normally leading projects rather than just being a team player under the supervision of someone else. My hosting company isn't quite up to par, I don't have any content at the moment (hard to find models in PR), I'm not the best graphics artist, but I am and always have been one hell of a backend coder, and of course, I have a team of Spanish translators if the need arises. I could contribute content later, as I have my own mobile studio, makeup artist, and fashion designer/consultant. I have everything I need for shooting content except models to shoot.

I started something on a much smaller scale for some mainstream stuff. I went out and found a designer I liked and he, along with a good friend who is a coder, and I formed an LLC. We are starting on our 1st project right now. Our only investment is time. Build, promote, sell, repeat.

My idea would be something along the lines of a forum like gfy but make a membership price , ( this cuts down on trolls , non-industry looky loo's and such )

Sorry, I did mention that the first time.

I think you guys are right about the number of people involved.

Lets say we broke it down to the top 10 GFY members that have something to bring to the table.

Since we can do the billing, all 10 members of the partnership can have access to stats. We can also pay out net profits equally. Nobody will be on Salary.

Traffic guy make sure there is always new and fresh traffic to the site,
Designer always making sure site is updated and fresh
Content guys keeping content fresh (We may have to pay expenses to shoot content)
I already staff plenty of programmers
We need a good marketer that can brand us.
Hosting, we do our own in-house hosting so that's not a problem.

I think it's possible, but we would all have to commit 100% and do our share.

Well, it was just a thought and I wanted to hear some feedback on it.
