I started a facebook account and promptly never visited it for ages. Now, every family member I ever heard about seems to be on there, as well as other aquaintances. I think if I ever log in there, the first order of business is to disapprove a bunch of people who just happen to know my name. Facebook probably just suggested they add me anyway.

I feel the exact same way. I've recently had a ton of people try to add me. Those I went to elementary school with and haven't spoken to in 15+ years, friends of my fiancee who I have no clue who the hell they are, etc. I just ignore them all.

Had fun with the fiancee's "friend" the other day and asked her who the hell she was, she responded with "went to school with [fiancee]" so I kindly responded "Yeah well I don't know you and quite frankly, I don't just add random people to my facebook. Thanks and goodbye. "
