Where to get professional domain appraisals for tax write offs

Need to write off a few domain names and need to get an appraisal that the IRS are likely to accept. Any suggestions?

No idea what you are planning, but I'm pretty sure you can't legally write off more than you paid for it...

Moniker has provided that for some time now. $25.00

" ... other system available. Our domain name appraisal services are the very best in the industry and the only ones accepted by the IRS for tax donation and charitable contributions. Click here to order your domain name appraisal today and begin the domain sales process."

It really would have to be the price paid for the domain I think.

Sure, any fool can appraise your domain for $1,000,000. So what? That doesn't mean the number is accurate. It's like trying to estimate good will or some intangible assets, it really is difficult.

I'm not an accountant, nor do I play one on TV, but I don't think you can write off more than the actual expense of obtaining it, unless, as quoted from Moniker, you have donated the domain to a charity. In that case, you could claim it at its appraised value.

But that is the only case I am aware of where you can claim more than you paid for it.
