Big pimpin

A lil bit off topic, but just to compare:

I've paid about $ 280 for a plastic surgery to fix four teeth about two years ago

And it was a PRIVATE dentist, so he got nothing from insurance (insurance wouldn't cover that anyway)

I'm even glad I can pay the doc directly in these instances cause there's no insurance clusterfuck going on and it's perfectly affordable

I had to go to the eye doctor. He was the guy my dad used. My father worked for a large health care company and it included eye coverage. For my exam I paid $150, I don't have vision insurance. My dad said did you try to negotiate with him? I said I figure that that's the price. My father then told me the insurance company paid the doctor $35 for the same thing.

Those prices are not what the insurance company would see. Most likely the higher price is what they try to charge the non-insured. Meanwhile the insurance companies pay much much less.

That's how it works in the pharmacy industry. Something that you go get a prescription for that will cost you $100 if you pay out of your pocket, cost the insurance companies maybe $30. They try to slip in the higher prices on people with co-pay as well. Meaning the insurance company will pay much less than what your co-pay will show meanwhile you are still getting hosed at the inflated price.

The health care/insurance industry in this country is an absolute scam.

As much as i understand, it seems to be a cartel that is pimping the docs and keeps the price of health care as high as possible, while cutting the costs left and right on those that are too expensive to maintain

Juicy has a premium "stallion" plan - a hand job is included with every second dose of vitamin B12 among other benefits

My last visit to the ER they messed up my insurance info, so they ran it as if I was uninsured. Holy shit. What a nightmare. I had to spend a whole day getting it corrected, phone calls to the hospitals, phone calls the the ER Docs, and phone calls to imaging / radiology. One hospital visit- 3 different companies / organizations trying to bill me.

Seven years ago my brother had a kidney stone and went to have lithotripsy. The lady told him they billed insurance companys 6500.00. and since he didnt have insurance they would bill him 2000 over 10 months. plus he had to put 500 down

Imagine how many people don't complain and just pay. Quite a racket they got going on there.
