Legal verdict: Manmade global warming science doesn?t withstand scrutiny
A cross examination of global warming science conducted by the University of Pennsylvania?s Institute for Law and Economics has concluded that virtually every claim advanced by global warming proponents fail to stand up to scrutiny. The cross-examination, carried out by Jason Scott Johnston, Professor and Director of the Program on Law, Environment and Economy at the University of Pennsylvania Law School, found that ?on virtually every major issue in climate change science, the [reports of the UN?s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change] and other summarizing work by leading climate establishment scientists have adopted various rhetorical strategies that seem to systematically conceal or minimize what appear to be fundamental scientific uncertainties or even disagreements.? Professor Johnson, who expressed surprise that the case for global warming was so weak, systematically examined the claims made in IPCC publications and other similar work by leading climate establishment scientists and compared them with what is found in the peer-edited climate science literature. He found that the climate establishment does not follow the scientific method. Instead, it ?seems overall to comprise an effort to marshal evidence in favor of a predetermined policy preference.? Back in 2007 the Weather Channel Founder said "Global Warming Greatest Scam in History" "It is the greatest scam in history. I am amazed, appalled and highly offended by it. Global Warming; It is a SCAM. Some dastardly scientists with environmental and political motives manipulated long term scientific data to create in [sic] allusion of rapid global warming. Other scientists of the same environmental whacko type jumped into the circle to support and broaden the "research" to further enhance the totally slanted, bogus global warming claims. Their friends in government steered huge research grants their way to keep the movement going. Soon they claimed to be a consensus." LOL, as if I needed more proof than virtually every single atmospheric scientist saying it was a scam :P There were like 15,000 signatures from scientists saying it was nothing more that hot air (no pun intended)...
But the powers that be will just ignore that... I mean if it's not convenient to their goals it's simply not true.

climate scientists are motivated by greed and their ego. 'Popular' fields of research receive the most grant money. More grant money means more ego, more 'i told you so', more hot grad-student research assistants. Just because the cause is painted as 'good' doesn't mean it isn't corrupt.

What about Manbearpig?
I think that we should be taking better care of the planet, no doubt about that. Using less, cleaning up after ourselves better, making the world a beautiful place. But I never did jump onto the man-made global warming crusade. It almost turned into a religion... a massive group of people declaring with absolute certainty (and sketchy "proof") that it did in fact exist while refusing to entertain other possibilities.

The actual number of scientists who backed that claim was ?only a few dozen experts,? he states in a paper for Progress in Physical Geography, co-authored with student Martin Mahony. ?Claims such as ?2,500 of the world?s leading scientists have reached a consensus that human activities are having a significant influence on the climate? are disingenuous,? the paper states unambiguously, adding that they rendered ?the IPCC vulnerable to outside criticism.? Hulme, Professor of Climate Change in the School of Environmental Sciences at the University of East Anglia ? the university of Climategate fame ? is the founding Director of the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research and one of the UK?s most prominent climate scientists. Among his many roles in the climate change establishment, Hulme was the IPCC?s co-ordinating Lead Author for its chapter on ?Climate scenario development? for its Third Assessment Report and a contributing author of several other chapters. It's really kind of a moo point. (A cow's point of view).
Even those with only a single cell left of common sense should know that we obviously cannot continue to rape and poison our planet. If global warming is some sort of international marketing tactic to sell CFL light bulbs, then so what? We need to stop killing and polluting every fucking thing we touch anyway. And that makes it moo.

What does the "verdict" of a bunch of law and economics professors have to do with the science?
Economics professors brought us the last 20 years of bubbles and crashes, and never successfully predicted a thing except how to spew media bullshit to put money in their own pockets. And lawyers say what they are paid to say. Read the science itself, and learn enough about it to understand what the scientific method is modeling. Of course there is disagreement. Disagreement is how the scientific method works. It's not voodoo and asskissing and moneychasing like economics and law. --- Not that there is any point in debating with wingnuts. And wingnuts are afraid of the scientific method, so fat chance of them studying it. |
