Anyone use a Flip Video camcorder ? Best Camcorder for wmv files ?
I've been using a Flip Video camcorder for capturing motorsports footage , It works great for what I need to do and since the cameras are so cheap I'm not afraid to put them on the drag strip line and in places where you wouldn't put a high end
camera. I do alot of web edits in Windows Movie Maker and love the program because when I jump around from computer to computer I know I'll always have an available copy of WMM. The only problem is that the new Flip Mino HD records in MP4 format, Windows Movie Maker doesnt work with MP4, I've tried a couple different converter programs but the quality of the video gets cut in half by the time it converts to wmv. Is there a better way to convert these MP4 videos ? or is there a cheap/simple camera that records good quality video into wmv ?? ![]()

I use VideoCharge, but like you, I have not found a good way to convert the MP4 files. Have you tried using Apple Quicktime to convert the file to AVI then use Windows Movie Maker to convert to WMV? I was trying that a day or so ago, but kept losing the audio. Not sure if it was my file or Quicktime.
MP4 is definitely much higher quality. I post those for downloading and convert to Flash for streaming now.

I use a Song HD bloggie I also use Youtube clip extractor its a great program, then I have handbrake another great program and prism video convertor and camstudio. I should make reviews of them for my youtube channel. |

here is the link I used to convert my HD flip videos and it does a pretty good job and is free. I don't use my flip HD for paysites (other then my self shot sites) but for personal use and for this it's perfect.
