I am not crunching as much because we are having a heatwave, and it seems like my friendly power company is having trouble keeping up. We get a blip every hour or two and the power is off. My UPS is just enough for an orderly shutdown.

Here's a small tip to those who are crunching:

Go to some large mega-stores where they sell IT equipement including computers & electronics and install the BOINC client to some of them. Attach it to world community grid project with your account and that's it.
I've done this few days ago, and trust me, they usually don't have time to check out their machines and/or remove the software installed.

If they blabber something about you installing BOINC, tell them that you're testing the machine and its for a good cause anyway!

Ecchi22 Too lazy to set a custom title Industry Role: Join Date: Nov 2005 Posts: 10,012	Here's a small tip to those who are crunching: Go to some large mega-stores where they sell IT equipement including computers & electronics and install the BOINC client to some of them. Attach it to world community grid project with your account and that's it. I've done this few days ago, and trust me, they usually don't have time to check out their machines and/or remove the software installed. If they blabber something about you installing BOINC, tell them that you're testing the machine and its for a good cause anyway! __________________
