Oy. That's taking me back a few. I would toss in Laugh In and the Smothers Brothers but, that was actually quality TV.

It's funny you say that - I had a similar experience with comic books a few years ago. When I was a kid, I loved Spiderman and many other Marvel books. This was in 1965 through 1969, the silver age (?). I thought the Spiderman stories were so good and I had a big crush on Gwen Stacy.

So back in 2000, I had some free time and eBay was coming on big, so I decided I'd try to rebuild my original Spidey collection of 1 through 100. I got pretty close (15 through 90) but came to a realization - those stories were utter rubbish. Insanely stupid, made no sense. The dialog was unbearable and everything was so easily resolved. Case in point - Harry's dad was the Green Goblin and he managed to surpress Peter Parker's spider sense (don't even get me started on the impossibility of that little power) long enough to follow him home and learn his secret identity (this was in issue 39, the first drawn by Johnny Romita). Well, easy as you please, Spidey manages to get him to lose his memory again and everything is hunky-dory in just two issues. Hardly realistic, I'd say. Anyhow, my entire love of comic books was ruined by that little experiment and I wished I had left it all in my memory. Just like most things in life, it was better in my memory than reality.

I watched all of those. A guy I was friends with from Kindergarten on up (just found him on facebook actually) was cousins with the girl that played Blair and we treated him like a celeb for it.

I used to love Night Court but haven't seen it in about 14 years..apparently it wasn't shown over here so it doesn't exist on their rerun channels.

For a good while You Can't Do That On Television was my favourite show. I totally had a thing for Alistair and his on screen relationship with Alanis Morissette made me hate her for ages as a kid.
