Recently I spoke with many big tube owners(doing designs for them, selling them traffic etc) and I can see that NONE of them are actually using trade script to get DETAILED stats about their sites. I agree google analytics and similar tools are good, but with trade script you can do SO MUCH MORE!

For example you can add incoming tracker and get REAL TIME stats who are much more accurate then GA, you can setup with small jquery trick all clicks to go thru trade script 100% to content and get detailed stats like click productivity etc about your traffic sources and you can even with this method track all your feed traffic you buy! Like this you know quality of countries, what they look, how much they click, on what they click etc etc!

There are tons of options what you can do, but still I don't see big tubes using trade scripts. My question is WHY? WHY limit yourself to google analytics when you have tool which will definitely help you out to spend money on traffic wisely and get much better ROI?

You can use trade script (in help of jquery) so all links=hardlinks...but jquery add's link prefix when user clicks...so SE's will see it as natural site without any script prefixes and users with javascript enabled browsers will go thru trade script ;)

I never spoke about TRADING, I said use trade script to track incoming traffic countries, productivity and so on. It's much easier, much more accurate and much better then using analytics.

actually, have you ever used analytics ?
It has a shitload more futures than any traffic trading scripts, its free and creates no overload on your server.
You're a bit biased, but tracking 10mil a day through such a script is nuts.

Actually I did use GA and I still use it, thats why I say, with trade script you can easily track all traffic campaigns for traffic you buy, all under 1 "trade", tarde is used just to see stats you don't need to send them traffic back!

10mil is more then doable with any decently coded trade script, we have over 1 mill a day sites with trade script installed and load is LOW.

I didn't want to bash any script or method, I just wanna answers from BIG TUBE owners why they don't use trade scripts for their advance? I know myself when I was running tube I used both GA and my own trade script, and I could much better know from where to buy traffic by just logging into trade script. Problem is when you buy feed traffic you get traffic from TONS of domains and you can't analyze them as 1 campaign...with trade script you can do that.

Actually you can, just send them to a specific url and then in GA just analyze the data for that url.

GA are not accurate, and trade scripts arent either. Use something like webtrends Analytics or equal, if you want to understand your traddic and customers.

GA is ridiculously inaccurate and only fools use it as the only stats tool of a high traffic site IMO. And erooup, what makes you think trade scripts aren't accurate? They are as accurate as it gets, if coded properly. Web server logs analyzing scripts are not more accurate than properly coded trade scripts.

Yes they are, because trade scripts cant succesfully track elements and requests. Web server logs analyzers are the only tool that can do that 100% accurate

Some folks are missing the OP's point: trade scripts are useful for much more than just "trading traffic"

A good trade script will let you easily redirect "undesirable" traffic in real time (better / easier than .htaccess etc.), and often provide a more "readable" snapshot of your network's internal traffic.

It's also a great way to build toplists as a way of equitably distributing your back links.

Click counting is another major benefit, and while GA, piwik and other stats packages can show you this information, a decent trade script can put it into context that is useful.

I never used trade scripts to "skim" traffic or for other "typical" uses, but the gateway they can provide is an awesome tool for adult webmasters. It's been a while since I looked at what's new / hot in trade scripts and what they can do today, but they help build (better quality) traffic -- even if you don't link to anyone else.

Using a script that takes ~ 1% of actual clickthroughs sounds like a epic great deal, and I cant belive more people wont do that already.
