Any small franchise for 30-40k in Canada?
Any small franchise for 30-40k in Canada? I am looking for something could generate 1.5k+ a month if possible. Trying to think of a way to generate stable income to pay bills rather than working for others. I need some guidance...

Franchises are a lot of hard work for little reward usually. Do you have $30,000 laying around or do you require a loan? Even if you purchase a franchise they usually require much more money to be liquid for operational expenses.

You can try to buy a very small store (online/offline).

I would go for those unattended coin operated businesses (i.e. laundromat, vending machines, etc) instead of a traditional franchise if I only had $30k to $40K to invest.

I have about 30-40k cash to invest... Im currently in the rat race, im not sure if i want to work for the rest of my life... i could save up more n quit later, but i dont see any point staying in the corporate world.
The lower the risk the better, im not into making big bucks, just need to find an exisiting business that could pay my bills and build a little of saving... Landromat sounds good to me... I wonder if I could borrow money from the bank to finance a landromat... trying to minimiz my cash outlay... |

I don't know how it works in your city but in Montreal, for $40K you could probably get 2 small laundromats for $40K, each generating $1,500 to $2,500 per month before expenses. I doubt you'll get a bank business loan for this kind of business but you could always try getting a personal loan or credit margin...

Are you working in adult right now and making some form of income? If so, capitalize on it - just trying to understand. If you want slow gradual franchise, SUBWAY offers one of the lowest franchise rates ever - thats why they are everywhere. They require a business plan and secured minimum investment.

I don't really know what the average ROI is. I've seen some laundromats in Montreal that have been sold at 12 times the net monthly revenue (but not including the owners time running the business). Thus, technically you would get your money back after the first year assuming you don't consider your time spent running the laundromat, you have no washers and dryers to replace, your rent and energy cost don't increase, etc.

I tried to purchase one a few years ago but their franchise rules our outrageous. You MUST manage the franchise or spend at least a few days a week at the store. They offer all the best locations to existing franchise owners, so as a new owner you are moving to some ridiculous location, and you never own the property it is always owned by Timmys.
After a lot of time and effort I decided to stay away.

I'm looking to take on a partner in a Cupcake operation. It's an existing business and I'd be "franchising" outlets to sell the cupcakes with no need for kitchen equipment and baking on my own.
Tim Horton's are the worst. They want the owner operator IN THE STORE for a good amount of the time the store is open. In the US, the Franchise is operated by Wendy's. |

to franchise a Tim Hortons in Canada the initial cost varies from $430,000 to $480,000. Alo, Every month about 30% or so of your gross monthly sales goes to pay fees.
a weekly Royalty fee of 4.5% of gross sales for the term of the License; a monthly Rental fee (which is the greater of a fixed minimum rent or 8.5% of gross monthly sales); a monthly Advertising levy of 4% of gross sales for the term of the License. at the end of each five (5) year period of the License term, at the sole discretion of The TDL Group Corp., an obligation to refurbish the restaurant to meet current Tim Hortons standards. And you have to be hands on operators. They will deny you application if you're just some not to corporations or passive investors. There may be other fees or rules that I miss, but that's the jist of it. oh, this is for a Tim Hortons in canada

I'm sure that they're successful, but seeing as there are a million of them in my town alone it would be hard to really profit. I'm sure if you were able to get a good location you can be successful, but all of those in my town are taken so all that's left is shit. I could be wrong though.
