:stop Do you like paying a commission?

Do sites owners like paying a commission to ad networks like adbrite and juicyads for selling their ad space? I'm sure some of you will say yes cause they sell your ad space, but wouldn't you rather keep 100%?

I would rather make 90% of $10,000 with no hassle than 100% of less with all of the hassle that comes along with selling and billing.

That wasn't the question. Wouldn't you'd rather keep 100%, with no hassles?

I can only assume you are about to pitch your own free broker service. How is it free? How does the money work? Who pays who? Who organizes all of the deals and what kind of safety measures are in place for both the buyer and the seller? Will you be handling disputes, for free?

The question is for those who sell their ad space.

I have a site I'm working on, but it's not ready yet. The advertiser pays nothing and the site owner keeps 100%. Everything else I'm keeping a secret until launched. It wont replace brokers or ad networks, but I'm sure it will hurt their business.

I don't use those particular networks, although maybe I should. But I do use ad brokers regularly and it is way worth not having the hassle most of the time.

I have some sites that I run Juicyads on because I just don't want to bother with it, but of course that's not my main bread and butter, so it works for me.

I would just love to "have" to pay like $100,000.00 commissions per month because that would mean that I could buy any car on the planet and pay cash. Plus more for the farm. Plus a new house. If you don't properly pay your people, you will soon have no people!

Sally.

They always do want it later x2 once the competition has gone out of business.

The revenue created from an advertisement should be more than the cost of advertising. Otherwise, it does not make sense to buy an advertisement for profit purposes.

You can't do that for free. You gonna skim the mobile traffic or something? If so, that's not 100% to the publisher.

Brokering advertising is a little more than just taking money from party A and then keeping a commission and then handing it over to party b.

Our company handles

Credit card billing
Wires/cheques
Ad management and solutions
Leveraging our network of advertisers to get you the best price possible
Marketing your ad space
Customer service
Ad changes/creative changes

That's just the tip of the iceberg really... Personally I have been hosed plenty of times with doing ad deals and advertisers stiffing us and we still pay out our publishers their full amount.

All part of the game really... I have made tens of millions of dollars for people over the years and I am very happy doing so and providing a valuable service.

That's why I've always required advertisers to pay upfront.
