Looks like Micheal Dougla has the same cancer as I had.

ACTRESS CATHERINE ZETA JONES has lashed out at doctors for failing to spot husband MICHAEL DOUGLAS's throat cancer sooner

Good thing was my doctors spotted it as soon as I went to the hospital.

He doesn't look too good - he has the look of death about him. I found that Letterman interview to be eerily reminisant of the Micheal Landon on Carson interview (1990?). The one where he announced to the world he had stage 4 cancer and told how he was going to beat it. He was dead 5 months later.

The doctors think the cancer is beaten.

I'm still recovering from the cure. It's tough treatment when you're at stage 4. I was told the odds of survival at the beginning were the same as Douglas quoted, then told those odds are for all stages combined. After I had beaten it.

High chance he might lose his tongue.

Paul, may i ask what were the first early symptoms you experienced before taking it to the doctor?

Please let us know and help more people catch it early.

A persistent sore throat that never responded to antibiotics. In the later stages a swelling on the left side of my neck. The swelling is a sign of a later stage.

My local doctor never suspected anything. It was the specialist in the Ear, Nose and Throat Dept. of the hospital that strongly suspected it was cancer. The hospital and that Dept. has a large Oncology section.

Im curious to know...... how long did this sore throat last?
You mean it never went away?

It seems I had it for a long time. At first it went away, then later it would not.

The swelling was half the size of a golf ball. It came at the time Eva had her accident so I was unable to get it checked out. I had a lot on my plate. So it was nearly 6 months before I could get it checked put properly.
