Shap, I have a question for you...Free Found Money

Not sure what you do with your Declines, but we have a program that after whatever cascading your doing on your end, we give the surfer a chance to enter your site on Credit, we do the credit check and if it comes back legit (Basically just verifying they are who they say they are), we give them credit for the price of your membership and give them access to your site on the fly, we then bill them by either email or sending a statement to their home. However they wish.

We then do the collections, collection rate is about 50% because people don't want to ruin up there credit for around 30 bucks. We get paid by the surfer, we send you 50%.
Also, once they pay, they have the option to stay on board with the monthly membership.

We have been using this for years and it's a proven system. Once we get paid, you get paid, webmaster gets paid.

I call it Free Found Money.

We never really pushed this product outside our company, but it's actually built in our processor that's in Nats and MPA3.

We've had a few BIG OFFERS to buy it many years ago, but we don't like selling things around here for some reason.

If interested, I'll have the programmers show you or your programmers a demo.

You can also customize the pages.

Thanks,

That makes sense, indeed a lot of people won't want something like that on their report for only $30 or so. Interesting

It works best on Cam sites and Dating Sites, because they REALLY want to get in.
It's actually a no Brainer.

But has done extremely well on CyberAge and UGAS as well.

About 20-30 days. And if they don't pay, you really didn't lose much.

Yup, unlike Billmelater, which actually took our idea, sells products and goods, so if they don't pay, they are in debt.

We are providing a password, that's it.

Pretty good idea Dave, thanks for sharing.

My philosophy was always to let them spend anyway to a certain point that you feel comfortable risking (if their card was good just had no funds available at that time) and then just check it once a week for a month then once a month for a long as you need too. I would even tell the person " You credit card does not have funds but we will still allow you to have up to $xx on t he site and collect from you later when funds are available. Some people really appreciate that. Eventually most of them will go through. If you straight up declined people not only do you never make the sale, but they may not come back when they do have funds. This way you get a customer, he will appreciate the "loan" basically and you should collect in the future, and once he sends off his credit card payment he might come back and drop a lot more money.

Your suggestion would be taking the above one step further and if you are unable to collect from the person after a couple months then do the collection agency, send to the house approach.

Good info...

Thanks Will,

Most of these people do have credit, they are just maxed out, we also give them the option to apply for our Own Credit card or a store loaded card which you can load from another credit card or ACH, which we have had since 99, CyberCredit.com powered by us and not Visa or Mastercard which is CNWB, we were like ePassporte way before ePassporte launched, but we had a different angle for the Card, we pulled the plug from going public just one week before. We knew with Visa and Master Cards regulations, there had to be an Internet Only Card, We had it built and we actually co-branded a few including Playboy and Adam And Even and they were doing some amazing numbers.

But just like everything else, you are going to make the most out of the company you put the most energy in, so we never really pushed our Financial Products Out to the World.

We own several patents on our Financial Products, Verified by Visa actually came out based on our idea as well.

Too many ideas, and not enough energy I guess. We have been doing this for 15 years now. That's a long time.

Nice idea, Dave.

One thing to try, if you haven't already, is different versions of that button text. IMO and experience, "Enter this site on credit" may confuse some people, who think "I'm already trying!" as they mix credit with credit card.

My suggestions to try (feel free to create your own variation of course):

"Let Me In - I'll Pay Later"

"Enter Now - Pay Later"

"I Promise to Pay Later!"

"Give Me Access - Bill Me Later!"

etc...

Thanks, this was actually created in 1999 and we started using it early 2000s.

We used to have a nice graphic with girls that got their attention, but as time went by, we changed it to this simple text. But I agree, the text you mentioned would give them more detailed info.

Thanks

Some blame slow sales on Tubes, Like me, Some blame Economy, and we know with the Foreclosure disaster and job layoffs, people are maxing out their credit cards. So this is just ONE LAST SHOT, to get something about of that surfer that is already at your site and wants in.
