I'm not religious nor was she so your prayers aren't necessary, but are appreciated as well as general well wishes and thoughts.

In 30 years this is the first immediate family member I've lost and I'm not quite sure how to handle it. I can't even deal with a pet dying and i'm usually an inconsolable mess for quite some time.

Trolls please avoid this thread. I have a thick skin, but a long memory.

She was 86. I saw her less than 12 hours before she died. She held my hand and looked in my eyes as best she could. My father was there for her final breath early today around 8:30 am.

Her last words to me, when she could still barely speak were "Don't rub your nose too much!" in regards to my weeping and runny nose. Last night it sounded like she was trying to get out "I love you." in reply to my statement of the same, but all she could get out was "i L..."

If you need anything from me and I can help, I'll be around but not consistently and not on any type of schedule as I'll be dealing with a very large influx of family as well as other arrangements and obligations. Sorry for your loss. I just went through the same thing 3 months ago. I was half way round the world so I didnt get to say bye. It still hurts but I know she is in a happy place now.

Thoughts and prayers are with you. I miss my grandma so much, she passed when I was a senior in high school. I wrote a beautiful poem the day she died that I read during the eulogy. It was cosmic, when I finished typing the last words at school is exactly when she took her last breath. Sigh

Having lost loved ones in the past the only advice I can give you is to just let whatever emotions "come up" for you come up, don't try to avoid or suppress them; it's just your soul trying to find some peace from the pain, which it will do if you allow it to come out naturally, when it wants to. This may mean it "comes out" (the grief) in odd places and times but just let it, you'll heal faster and can then remember all the things you loved about your Grandma. Plus, she's watching down on you now anyway, and she's in a happier place.
