conspiracies are always poo-poo'd by those that think they are in the know and refuse to accept or consider anything other than the lies they are spoon fed.

just because some conspiracies are true does not mean all conspiracies are true.

that's false logic

critical thinking, you know.

agreed.

i would add that some of the so-called "theories" are much more accurate and truthful than the so-called "official truth".

however, political correctness maintains them as theories. (read: wild ideas by crackpots), and people eat it up.

There's too many utter nutcases that are very vocal that give anybody with a seemingly imaginative theory a bad jumping off point.

is there a basis for that label? (nutcases)

or are you just repeating what you've been taught to say?

yes there is

one forum I used to post on had someone that would post endless amounts of shit that that wasn't any of his own ideas just parroted bollocks. it's people that put no personal thought into anything that are the most vocal and make anybody with what maybe a good idea of their own have to struggle against the tinfoil hat label before they have even opened their mouth.

The most brilliant conspiracy in the world is how they've made everyone immediately think of the word "theory" whenever "conspiracy" (An agreement to perform together an illegal, wrongful, or subversive act.) is mentioned, as if planning crimes has never ever been proven.

Operation Northwoods sounds a lot like what happened on 9/11.

Read up, this is a military tactic that's been used quite a few times before...

every official that ever appears in the media.

*they* dismiss it (any conspiracy theory) with a wave of the hand as though too ludicrous to even think about. and *they* do this nearly 100% of the time.

the public mimics what they are exposed to.

*they* have made the idea of a conspiracy into a joke.

i see what you are getting at but doesn't the fact that there are people like you and me disprove your comment?

[P]rescott Sheldon Bush (May 15, 1895 ? October 8, 1972) was a Wall Street executive banker, and a United States Senator representing Connecticut from 1952 until January 1963. He was the father of the 41st President of the United States George H. W. Bush and the grandfather of George W. Bush, 43rd President of the United States. ...

[16.]The Business Plot: In 1933, group of wealthy businessmen that allegedly included the heads of Chase Bank, GM, Goodyear, Standard Oil, the DuPont family and Senator Prescott Bush tried to recruit Marine Corps Major General Smedley Butler to lead a military coup against President FDR and install a fascist dictatorship in the United States. And yes, we're talking about the same Prescott Bush who fathered one US President and grandfathered another one. Smedley Butler was both a patriot and a vocal FDR supporter. Apparently none of these criminal masterminds noticed that their prospective point man had actively stumped for FDR in 1932. Smedley spilled the beans to a congressional committee in 1934. ...

This was brought up in the 2000 election campaign and was mostly ignored as a rumor ? the rest is history.

Some alleged conspiracies are fact ? some ? most are just circumferentially construed for use as propaganda.

this.

i'd also add that the biggest conspiracies haven't even hit the public radar.

Yes, absolutely right.

Glad to see this one on the list. I wrote about it here before.

Quote:
18.Operation Ajax: For years, Britain had a spiffy trade deal with Iran regarding their prodigious oil fields. The Anglo-Iranian Oil Company was basically a giant money machine for the Anglo half, while the Iranian half got shafted. That all changed in 1951 when Iran nationalized the AIOC and the Iranian parliament elected Mohammed Mossadegh as Prime Minister. Mossadegh was relatively secular, something that pissed of Iranian clerics, but he was also very nationalistic. He was a democratically elected, pro American figure but the West saw his nationalizing of the oil fields a communist move(something Mossadegh thought was the right of the people to profit and pay for services in the country with). Those oil fields were under the control of British Petroleum, but unfortunately Mossadegh overruled this long standing business control. The United States sent Kermit Roosevelt, FDR?s nephew and CIA coordinator in to figure out the mess.

The best he could come up with was to confront Mossadegh and have him overthrown and this was accomplished by bringing in what the agency refers to as ?jackals.?The United States backed the return of the Shah of Iran, one of the most brutal dictators the country had ever seen and intentionally overthrew years before with the democratic leader, Mossadegh.Until 1979, that is, when a pissed off Iranian populace finally revolted and replaced the monarchy with an anti-West Islamic Republic. The result was a violently anti-American revolution lead by the Ayatollah Khomeini which overthrew the Shah and took hostage US Embassy workers, many of whom were involved in the plot with Kermit Roosevelt that installed the Shah. The planning for the Coup took place largely in that embassy, but Americans were told this was due to the rise of radical Islam and rise of democracy hating Muslims, which of course was far from the truth.
