No.

There is no "conspiracy" this information is out there for you.

Conspiracy details some kind of secret. This isn't "secret" information.

This isn't earth shattering information. It is quite obvious actually.

I am telling you they are fact. Debunk my facts then if they are not facts.

A) Government controls education
B) Big business makes millions of dollars in contributions to government
C) The social elite run big business
D) politicians like money

What are the chances are that what you are taught in school is going to be a negative view about the people who pay for it no matter how good/bad they are?

what is so hard to understand here?

what are you questioning here?

There are many forms of gaining an education.

Many of histories leading scientists/engineers/mathematicians/teachers were chastised and forced to gain education in a more personal underground fashion.

Why do you think it is any difference these days?

Because the government tells you that you are getting educated you are?

College breeds ignorance not education. many great thinkers throughout time will also agree. When you make education completely a system for the select few. it becomes more about keeping people uneducated than further educating the population.

i can guarantee you the greatest thinkers of time including scientists/engineers/mathematicians/teacher were the best because they went AWAY from the norm. not because they learnt it in class.
anyone serious about education goes to university not college anyways. college is based around learning a trade while university is more learning based.

A) I went to a private university, they have those in the states. no government money received, hence why the are so expensive.
B) while this is true, does that mean everything that the government touches always has a negative/controlling effect on society? they just gave money for a speed train here in florida, correlate that for me
C) the truly wealthy i feel don't care to be highly social. the rich want to look wealthy, the wealthy don't show off. this is my opinion-i am not claiming this to be fact like you are saying
D) this is true

when i say cite facts, usually it means more than you just regurgitating claims you've made

They're bitching because they can't find many willing to work such low wages.

For example, saw a news article about a company having trouble finding skilled machinists ... turns out the company only paid around $12 per hour ... no wonder they have trouble finding people.

Businesses cant afford to pay the wage. People supposedly cant afford to work for a low wage. so where is the middle ground?

the social elite invest in programs that will educate people to work for them.

the more people working for them, making them more money the further entrenched their personal interests are into society.

the government seeks to control what people do. that is why we have a GOVERNMENT. how is this rocket science? what am i saying is wrong?

because you like to fancy yourself with a degree it all of a sudden changes the pure fact of the setup of the education system?

let me guess ghettos are just stupid people and have nothing to do with systematic stripping away of peoples right to education. that is why those areas are normally invested the least in. because of pure chance?

well that is exactly the kind of idiotic rambling I would expect somebody with the lack of a college degree to go on.

The topic of your thread was college kids and how the educational system makes them slaves. It's not like your thread was college kids and alternative methods of educating yourself. Stick with one philosophy if you are going to attempt to use it as a retort.

I think its ironic that you are creating a thread about the extremism and control of education and how apparently nobody has any control over their life..as slaves, but yet you're very own method of delivering your opinion is so extremist. I'm all 100% correct and everybody else is wrong.

The world isn't just black and white. I'm educated with two college degrees and I make porn and run a PC repair shop. Where does your tight theory of educational slavery fit into that?

You know what else. You also didn't need a medical license to cut people open. You just painted a fucking sign and called yourself a doctor. You know, thank god for the institution of higher learning and its certified members.

You know whats even funnier. People that lack college degrees trying to sound smart when they defend not having one or trying to pass it off that you don't one. You try to use a lot of fancy talk and usually create this institutionalized argument of subjugation.

The real truth is those with college degrees could care less what you think. That's the whole point in having a college degree. Knowing who and who not to listen too.

ya you dont care that is why you wrote a rambling post. you are just as bad as agent 488, he doesnt care but has posted 4x in this thread with no one responding to him once.

fact is you do care. and you will continue to care. you are so angry that someone "without a degree" could possibly have a different view than you.

keep tossing out the degrees you have, no one asked and their is something i can GUARANTEE no one cares about except yourself. Because if you didnt you wouldnt point out how "you are the exception" to my post.

whether you like it or not every time you learn something it is from someone else. living in general is a systematic process. if you want to live in la la land and pretend you are a true individual good for you man!

keep telling yourself you are free and not a pawn in someone elses game. i hope you sleep well at night. at least i like to laugh and play along.

if you arent a "slave" and do not use your degrees then what was the point? maybe because you were TOLD to get them.

High school graduates, no college 10%
Bachelor's degree and higher 4.4%
Firstly, there are different measures of the unemployment rate ... the numbers you're referring to, appear to be U3 numbers. Using U6, which includes underemployed, those numbers are likely at least doubled.

But more to the point, many who are considered fully employed, are earning far less than they were in the past; jobs paying much low wages ... the new pay range for a wide range of jobs, including office, supervisory, manufacturing, etc seems to be around $8 - $15.

As for the "recovery" ... how is that going to happen when many jobs are so easy to offshore for less, while competition for the remaining jobs is so fierce that employers are requiring more from applicants and wages continue to be driven down, not just in absolute dollars, but even more so when adjusted for inflation...

Some speak of price deflation (relates to monetary supply, but not the measure I'm referring to, because most people when they speak of "inflation" are referring to prices of stuff they buy) ... but instead of inflation, think stagflation - which is a bit of both ... prices of many asset classes (ie. houses, cars, and electronics) are declining while prices of consumables / commodities are increasing.

Weird things are happening in the bond markets ... this week 5 Year TIPS sold for around negative 0.55 percent and were snapped up like hotcakes.

http://online.wsj.com/article/BT-CO-...25-711679.html

Much of the purchases were likely the Fed and various countries with reciprocal agreements to buy our debt. But many private investors bought too ... why would someone pay negative 1/2 percent for a bond ... could it be inflation is set to skyrocket ... or, possibly, that its safer, despite the cost premium, over holding cash and equities due to currency devaluation - that, in my view, is even more disconcerting.

Rambling on, but point is that if recovery is close, one would expect more asset purchases / expansion, not flight into bonds (another bubble, but that's another whole topic in and of itself) and commodities; many companies are hoarding cash for the long-haul - to cover their outstanding liabilities / keeping the business going.

Ron

There is about 20 000 mainstream offers to the "college of insert birdname here" to help.

you're a retard, your arguments are about as solid as some paranoid schizo. do i have a degree? yes. does it afford me more opportunities than those without? yes. that's what everyone in this thread has said and supported. it doesn't mean i'm better or smarter or a fucking slave. it means i have an advantage in some capacity.

your spew is just that, worthless dribble. you kept repeating statements with no support or back up. maybe cause you didn't go to university where you learn to cite your sources?

It means you have ZERO advantage.

There is a recession going on. Your degree means NOTHING.

How can you not admit you are not a slave to a system? it is purely INSANE that you think otherwise. you have to be completely insane not to admit as humans we are slaves inside a system.

------
slave (slv)
n.
One who is abjectly subservient to a specified person or influence
------

keep telling yourself otherwise.

i have asked you 4x now. what are you debunking? ooo im a "paranoid schizo" because i have a different view. must be. let me guess you have a psychology degree now also.

no i don't have a psych degree. your statements are that the entire system is set up to be a factory, and that you are apparently cheating it cause you didn't get educated?

your view is just that, your view. congrats, you didn't go to school and you have what you define as success for yourself. would you be successful somewhere? probably not. i'm sure cost of living is cheaper there, you have somewhat of a network, and you have the experience. come to miami and see how that translates. degrees get your foot in the door, the rest comes after

there are plenty of legitimate studies, reports out there that "debunk" your ideas. are those all falsified, made up to fuel the slave system?

oh and you know what the best part about getting a degree? all the fun you have and the girls you meet. yeah you definitely win by avoiding the "slave system". cause i'm sure you spent age 18-22 banging more girls, partying more than regular college guys, in middle of nowhere canada

your view is just that, your view. congrats, you didn't go to school and you have what you define as success for yourself. would you be successful somewhere? probably not. i'm sure cost of living is cheaper there, you have somewhat of a network, and you have the experience. come to miami and see how that translates. degrees get your foot in the door, the rest comes after

there are plenty of legitimate studies, reports out there that "debunk" your ideas. are those all falsified, made up to fuel the slave system?
WHOA, please point out where i am the exception? i already said i know it is all a game. I am born into this system. I'm not saying I am any different. But at least I do not lie to myself. Or lie to others about my status.

You are looking at things on such an individual basis.

There doesnt have to be a "master plan" of control.

When similar people in power have similar views they make similar decisions to keep power. Even if they arent working directly together but have the same ideology and views is it no the same as working together?

You are looking at this like reptiles looking into a fish tank of humans. I am looking at reality of the situation. You can twist and bend it to make it sound insane. but that does not change the truth of the matter.

why does it seem so crazy to you that the powerful keep the middle class in order to benefit themselves? that is the basis for every society throughout time.

but somehow you are not trapped in it? that to me is hilarious.

You start one of these threads about once every 4 months. Insecure much?

No one gives a shit that you're an illiterate high school dropout.

Some people here try to prove you wrong every time you start one of these but there's a good quote,

I agree that College could be overrated. I disagree that College is completely useless. Business College could teach you skills to help you start your own business with your own customers (you don't have to necessarily work for someone else).

Economists tend to agree that the US recession is either over or on the cusp.

Jobs are always a lagging economic indicator.

Most employers will be conservative and not start hiring until absolutely necessary. They will also continue to try to ride out the recessions productivity boost as long as possible. Employees will become wise once there are more jobs available and decide to abandon ship. This, of course, will force lagging companies to increase hiring.

At this point in time, if I were a working stiff, I'd be less concerned about job security and more concerned about stagnant wages for years to come.

These would be the mainstream economists that have been doing their best to try and improve consumer confidence with skewed statistics. We're in a depression, not a recession.

You're right, when it catches up, the unemployment rate will be higher than it has been in 2 years.

keep tossing out the degrees you have, no one asked and their is something i can GUARANTEE no one cares about except yourself. Because if you didnt you wouldnt point out how "you are the exception" to my post.

whether you like it or not every time you learn something it is from someone else. living in general is a systematic process. if you want to live in la la land and pretend you are a true individual good for you man!

keep telling yourself you are free and not a pawn in someone elses game. i hope you sleep well at night. at least i like to laugh and play along.

if you arent a "slave" and do not use your degrees then what was the point? maybe because you were TOLD to get them.
reading you trying to refute the importance of secondary education is like listening to two 8 year olds quible about learning multiplication tables...

I indeed think it is important! Quote me where I said it was not.

It is very important. Important to me society educates a class of "know it alls" that are actually idiots.

You are the type of people i sell my products to.

Without a stupid middle class who else is there to get money from? the poor?

The bottom is not even close. The bottom will be long and drawn out. It will happen slowly. Just in time for the "troops" to come back from war to help keep the social norm in place until a recovery can happen.

Im not even sure if a deflation period is possible with such a trade deficit that the USA has. How can you deflate prices and products you do not make?

and you can do is keep inflation on the rise while deflation happens at the same time. which will happen.

there has to be a resetting point. but the longer you drag it out the longer it takes to recover. but how can you not let it drag out with how many million gun owners in the usa?

i think you can't decide what your argument is. You change it to suit your purpose.

The funny thing is that you consider yourself a part of "society" thats judgements impact things. Those of us with college degrees know that your judgements lasting impacts only last as long as the bar tab you have going for the night.

Tonight its the educational entrapment of a generation. Tomorrow it will be the discourse of a two partied political system. We revel, in people such as yourselves. We walk among you listening to your theories and conspiracies.

it with great pleasure when I listen to people such as yourself. That I send my financial aid check payment in with complete satisfaction.....this is what it was for. To know that I am not them.

You prove my exact point. Your elitist mentality is going to end soon and you are going to be in for a huge wakeup call.

This may surprise you but not all people who do not go to college drink every night or collect aid cheques.

Isnt it funny to you that all those elitist type graduates that were to good are all of a sudden applying at wal mart? i dont find it funny but the irony is there.

keep up your train of thought and you aren't to far off. im not to good for anything. but i am to good for you idiots who think you are smart.

the more i know people like you exist the more i am pretty much guaranteed success. you serve what you are meant to do. I can already tell by the way you talk you have been trained nicely.

Everything you have posted in this thread is "pedestrian" at the most.

You are somebody who is not content with their lot on the totem pole. Just because somebody is higher up than you on the ladder, does not mean by default they are looking down on you. But that is your take.

For every asshole ivy league fucker that looks down on somebody from his BMW ther is an equivalent person lower on the ladder looking up making full swath claims that everybody above is an elitist.

Be content where you are and quit basing your life on the haves and have nots of others.....then you will truely make progress with the potential and resources you have at your disposal.

In layman terms, you're a hater. Haters exist at all levels of the chain.

You don't hate college people, you just hate people who aren't where you are at. Thats worse than being an elitist....at least an elitist knows where he stands...they hate everybody equally....you...you're just unhappy..

I know my place, and if you think yours is any different based on a degree you're the one being fooled.

Try go back on your post. it shows your exact lack of understanding if you automatically equate not having a degree with partying or collecting aid cheques.

why dont you answer that part instead of rambling on again?

those who have the need to compare their spot on the ladder to others' spot will never be happy in the first place. you are already on the longest road to no where. i hope when you figure out the end is not there you're not to far along it to turn back.

Take your own advice, be content and dont make stupid remarks towards a group of people who you already use to prop up your own miserable life.

these "college graduates" (whoa, what an accomplishment) are pretty funny. Having a college degree definitely does not make you smarter by default. There are a lot of total drooling morons who have these pieces of paper.

I am not sure what field metaman is talking about but most require that piece of paper, no matter if the other applicant is ten times smarter, more qualified than the college graduate, it doesn't matter. they always look for that piece of paper.

If you want to be serious about learning and not just going to school to learn a trade, go to university. I am not sure if there is different wording in the states but here in ontario, most of the dumb kids go to college and the smart ones went to university.

It never hurts to learn something, no matter what it is. who cares what someones opinion is of it? If you think it will make you a better person go for it but yeah, i wouldn't buy into the idea that you are going to be guarenteed some kind of salary because you aren't. there are no promises in life.

You have nothing to add because you are taught in college to think like the peers around you. Which you are doing just like you have been trained to do.

So nice post also.

Metaman you are lumping all educated people with your college kid friends who assume they are getting big paychecks as soon as they get out of college. That is not an accurate depiction of what people expect out of their degrees/diplomas. I remember laughing at the fools who said this too, but it was because they were fools, not because they decided to further their education.

A college education is not useless, sure there are some programs that will be far more useless than others but you are forgetting that all the baby boomers are starting to retire now, and in a few years they will all be retired. Who is going to fill those rolls once that happens? Who would you hire for your business to manage a store or chain of stores even? A kid who thinks he's too smart to get an education? or someone with a business degree who not only knows how to run a business but to make it profitable as well?

I'm not saying there isn't exceptions, I am almost completely self educated myself, but it took me a long time to realize that knocking others for their educations is an act of jealousy, nothing more. If I lost everything and had to start over next week I would be forced to have to either take up a trade of some sort or I'll be digging ditches somewhere (which I have done and I recommend this to no one! Good money but your joints will never forgive you!) while people with a trade or degree will be getting the desk jobs.

As for being slaves, we all pay at least 30-50% of income taxes and are taxed on everything we own or buy whether we own a business or not--in that sense we all are slaves to our government ;)

Ill ask you again:

Why do you think that people without a degree are automatically alcoholics or collect aid cheques?

i have answered all your questions but you just continue to rant about nothing.

You ask where this "road to no where is" It is NO WHERE.

Where is this metaphorical "ladder" you speak of.

I dont want your "demise". I want to live long and work hard so I can sit on my ass and sell you shit you dont need. Thus giving me wealth. What don't you understand?
