Why are so many porn sites owned by UK Limited companies?

What are the advantages?

If it's what I think you are seeing then it is a European billing requirement in some cases, and it is just an address at the end of the day.

It's also pretty attractive to people, because minimum founding capital is only 1 GBP. Opposed to for example 25'000 EUR in Germany or 20'000 CHF in Switzerland.

It's very easy and cheap to set up a UK Ltd, other European nations (such as Italy) are a pain in the arse.

One of the BIG reasons is so you can go around and tell people your a director of a company.

Its often an ego buzz.

I know a few UK webmasters who do this.

Also I think they do it in order to give the ipreshion they are making big bucks.

I know a few who bank on about being a company, yet make sod all cash.

This is why London is world wide financial center,while others are not even close.Almost every other europe company to making a company is royal pain in ass,starting from Croatia,Austria,Czech Republic etc...

There were huge tax benefits, but I think that has changed a bit. Not really sure though.

Anyone speaking about being a director is bollocks.. A limited company usually has shares & makes it easier to start another business. Anyone that runs a business is a director so its nothing to do with that.

The DA is right in saying its easy to start a British limited company, however, its just as easy to start a business in a country such as Bulgaria

The main advantages of having your business base as a UK company would be the taxable expense advantages & a limited company, your house is not touched if the company goes under.

There are (or were?) further tax benefits for non-residents with UK companies operating outside of the UK as I recall.

My UK company is able to pay me dividends 12 times per year, once per month. Which means that I can receive a good amount monthly which is only taxed as capital. A monthly salary would be taxed as income and would need social taxes and employer fees added to them. So it's a way to tax-plan and keep a bit more as compared to having to pay it to government.

Besides, I do not reside in the UK, I do not have a UK passport. Yet, the company was setup for me, filed with all the proper authorities and so on in a day or two. I never have to visit UK, everything can be handled for me by a remote agent. Convinient.

Yeah, I think youre right. It is taxable benefits that is the main attribute. Also, I think, having a British limited companies give a more rewarding benefit to offshore accounts in Jersey.
I also think you have to have a turnover of 50k or more for a limited company.
