Hey AFF and Brazzers, wake the fuck up

Why don't you hire someone who has a clue on the internet, like me..

And change the domain of your banner servers occasionally, so that 50% of the world who has them blocked via 3rd party software actually can see them.. they are trying to block intrusive ads, not ads in general

Maybe I could make a sale? Maybe my down line can earn the $50 so i can keep them as my down line?

Maybe your top sponsors could stay in business?

Food for thought

PS I have NO affiliation with the site in picture or anyone, i was just noticing how sad these old timers sites are with today's pop up blockers
that I just installed for curiosity reasons since i notice they all modify your hosts file now.

Basically you domain is turning into 127.0.0.1
Why would you let them do that

That's a creative way to ask for a job. Berate them and then say to hire you to fix it.

Not a bad tip
for most sponsors the difference is probably trivial, but AFF is probably losing nice chunk of change because of it...

No, sorry, I don't have it, and she wouldn't piss on them if they were on fire at this point, they were real insulting when she turned them down.

Basically they assumed she was too dumb to know the value of her traffic, and they were snotty and condescending to her.

Most sites are too lazy / cheap to serve ads from within their own domain.

Ideally, the site in question should remotely grab (and cache for future requests) the 3rd party ads and serve them from their own domain.

And for completeness, add a separate text link under / near the various ads, so even those running with very aggressive ad blocking settings will still likely see the ad links.

I'm amazed that in 2010, most 3rd party ad serving is still done the same old way making sites load slow / unreliable - most web surfers have experienced page loading problems due to some 3rd party ad server being too far away, not necessarily in physical distance, but in regards to internet topography, and/or overloaded.

always wondered about "blockers" baypass, first i was thinking is using many domains to serve ads because of those fucking lists and second is to not use standard banner sizes because many of them are blocked even based on that, and 3rd is to use some kind of fancy scripting to serve ad over fucking blockers

seriously? its as lame as taking screen shots of several rotations, and displaying them instead, be very careful on your link code though, use campaign tracking

Well many domains might not be the answer, but your main domain might be.. if they blocked www.adultfriendfinder.com that would generate complaints and defeat the host file edits.. as it would render the site unusable and putting the popup blocker that uses that method out of business, the other solutioni s multiple hosts

they would have to add 10,000 records+ and contantly change to block just for one SITE (not practical)... hell use a wildcard host for your banners, its a simple solution that could take 2 hours to implement and probably has cost them 10,000,000 dollars over the years if not more by not doing it

Another tips is DONT use JS ads at all. those are the worst.. If the ad server goes down, so does your entire site as the page will not load until the JS code is served.. its a self made DOS

They will be in touch if they are interested.
An assistant will send you an email saying that they are interested and then you get to talk to the big guy.
They do a thourough homework and know who to ask, they do not buy just random links.

They get the email address from the domain whois after searching and checking rank for certain keywords.

A good start is not using a subdmain called BANNERS because most ad blockers just plain block any domain with ad related keywords in them.

How are they losing money? The people who use technology to block that sort of thing (AdBlock, hosts file, Noscript - I use all three and haven't seen an ad in years) know enough to know that they don't want to see those banners. I doubt very seriously that they would ever click one, even if it made it through their attempts to block it. You don't lose money by failing to show an ad to someone who isn't interested to start with.

If this were true then there would be no ads on the internet in the first place, no one WANTS to see ads, which is why we have to make them enticing.

What do you suggest then to serve the banners?

Someone help me out here please, this thread just hit me in the stomach.

If I have ads.domain-a.com on my server, and it's serving banners to doman-b.com, domain-c.com (all on the same box) and so on, will some of the blockers nail that as well, or does it have to be a blocked domain? Or do some of them just look for ads or banners sub domain?

I tested with a few blockers, didn't see a problem, but maybe doing it this way will lead to future problems?

Currently using OpenX, not a big fan of it, but would change if there was something easier and faster to use.

Big thanks to anyone who can shed some light on this for me.

First of all the point.

The programs are called POPUP Blockers, that means ads that POPUP in your face while you ar surfing.. What you are using is an Ad Blocker, and basically identifies you are the scum of the internet, who takes all content he reads for free and puts us people who provide content on the internet in exchange for advertising out of business. Thanks A Lot there!

Popup blockers that edit hosts files and ban general ad servers cause a huge problem in the industry and its a 30 minute fix that all companies, especially HUGE FUCKING SPONSORS should have addressed years ago.

Its a joke they don't already know about this or have a solution..

As for you, you're a retard that knows nothing about business or economy one bit.. So later on in life when your complaining about money or problems or whatever, just remember, you caused it!

Was just talking to this guy who was interested in buying one of my sites.. He asked how it made money..
I said it made $3 a day,

He was blown away, he was like how are you making $3 a day. I don't see no advertising or anything? I am like.. on the top and on the side of the page... (i make my sites nice and ads dont get in your face, or ruin design)

And he was like huh?

I said again, I have google adsense banners in the top and side. Do you have a pop up blocker, and he replied yes.. I replied, no you have an AD BLocker and you are putting me out of business, and he said no its a pop up blocker for Firefox

Surfers don't have a clue they are blocking ads, it doesnt matter, that ad blocker is pushing his shit to make some cash off your ads, and most of us
are stupid enough to let him get away with it due to ignorance

The domains blocked in most host file edits

127.0.0.1 graphics.streamray.com
127.0.0.1 affiliates.streamray.com
127.0.0.1 free.content.streamray.com
127.0.0.1 banners.images.streamray.com
127.0.0.1 livecamgirls.streamray.com
127.0.0.1 ads.adultfriendfinder.com
127.0.0.1 pop6.adultfriendfinder.com
127.0.0.1 adultfriendfinder.com
127.0.0.1 adserver.adultfriendfinder.com
127.0.0.1 banners.adultfriendfinder.com
127.0.0.1 cover9.adultfriendfinder.com
127.0.0.1 geobanner.adultfriendfinder.com
127.0.0.1 guest.adultfriendfinder.com
127.0.0.1 iframe.adultfriendfinder.com
127.0.0.1 option9.adultfriendfinder.com
127.0.0.1 tgp.adultfriendfinder.com
127.0.0.1 www.adultfriendfinder.com WTF?!?!?
127.0.0.1 banners.cams.com

127.0.0.1 tour.brazzers.com
127.0.0.1 ads.brazzers.com
127.0.0.1 ads2.brazzers.com

127.0.0.1 adserver.cams.com
127.0.0.1 promo.cams.com

and I am sure there is more of their "other" owned domains

So sad you are losing a number of 10-40% of your traffic everyday?!?!
to the simple fact you wont defeat the system using a wildcard domain
ad server setup

And that "you" is also ME and my down line

Wow, so not only sales i lose, i am losing webmaster referrals.. no wonder
nooone signs up under me anymore.. Server Not Found ?!?!?
