What's a good TV series to get into?

What happened to the shows that were awesome? The only thing I may now is Criminal Minds or CSI Las Vegas if I get roped into. Everything seems to be about Vampire crap or it's just a weak ass show in general. Someone recommend something good to get into! The crap my wife watches is just that, crap. I'm thinking of queueing up Breaking Bad from NetFlix, anyone watch that show? Trailer looks pretty good

There is so much good TV on these days it's not funny.

I love Sons Of Anarchy. DVR that fucker ever week and watch it the following day.

My wife got me into NCIS this weekend. Good enough. Modern Family and 30 Rock slays me.

u cant really know whats good unless u are a torrent whore. if u are trying to catch stuff on broadcast tv, you are missing 90% of the picture. i watch every new pilot that comes out, which is at least 10 a season.

good this year: the new nikita is entertaining with lots of hot chicks, the event, the defenders, terriers, hawaii five-0 (awesome action), chase (great action too)

good stuff u can still find: blue mountain state (season 1 on torrents, s2 just started), rubicon (s1 just ended), the glades (fucking awesome)

always my favs: dexter, chuck, mad men, house, entourage (although last season sucked), NCIS & NCIS-LA (LA version is better this season)

hope that helps!

Breaking Bad is well worth the watch, great writing, great acting, and one hell of a storyline! Weeds has been fun as well. I have caught up with both shows, I also need to find another sunday fix....

Actually I think there are quite a few good shows out right now. I don't actively follow all of the shows that I like, I usually catch up later, I'm behind on a few... but this might get you started.

Breaking Bad
The Office
Modern Family
The League
24 (have not watched last season yet)
Lost (have not watched last season yet)
30 Rock (did not like at first, it grew on me)
Burn Notice
White Collar

"No Ordinary Family" is an excellent show. It's put together well and so far the storyline has been going good.

For comedy, nothing beats "Modern Family"

I watch SoA, Rubicon and Terriers. Rubicon just ended its first season and may do reruns. SoA is just about to end its current season. And, Terriers is mid-season. All excellent shows with good plots and production values.

Breaking Bad and LOST (yeah, I know it's over, but it is the shit to watch on blu-ray), fucking rule.

Walking Dead premiere last night was simply awesome. I sucked in. It was a total rip off of 28 days later, even the music was a rip off lol, but I don't care. The show kicked much ass, I hope they can keep it up.

Did I mention Breaking Bad lol?

It's actually based on a novel (graphic?) that was actually out a bit before 28 Days Later.

i liked the first season breaking bad but the second one got little boring becasue it was too much drama stuff and too little action...

other than that you cant go wrong with:
firefly
the wire
deadwood
cowboy bebop (cartoon)
dexter

and yeah, ok, i liked "24" too although it is just pure action..

stylistically, it is almost identical to 28 days later, with a bit of zombieland land thrown in. even the score is very similar to 28...

Awesome, this thread gave me new ideas. I'm a series freak, kinda;-)

I never watched Dexter, then I got a few episodes out of boredom few weeks ago: I watched 4 seasons in 2 weeks, gotta love that;-)

Looks like i have a new one now, the Breaking Bad looks great. That Anarchie series has all those cheesy actors, too bad. Not going to watch that now.

I never watched Lost either, ever. This is my backup series for when there's nothing cool left.

I love (in the beginning more than now):
- Entourage (started with that only after 3 series as well, so that was a fun ruide too. 30+ episodes in a run)
- Weeds (getting worse though)
- Two and a half Men
- Dexter

Stupid they cancelled FlashForward, seems like everybody loved it.

Don't you just wish there was a great series you hadn't watched yet? I bet all the Lost lovers would to be where I'm at, Lost-virgin. I can start watching countless hours whenever i feel ready :-p

ps. I tried The Wire too a year ago, but I found it too slow. Never got further than episode 8 or so, season 1;-)
