So what would you do with 40 unused dual Xeon servers? They are racked in the datacenter but doing nothing at the moment; leftovers from a client.

Helping out possibly curing cancer, dengue fever or similar can't be a bad thing. Better that than just having them sit totally unemployed, according to me at least.

Unrack them and donate them to a local school and replace them with better/newer hardware.

Or try to build a folding cluster/seti/relatedwhateveryoucanfind.

Thats a very good idea, I've looked at it as well and if I don't find a pupose for the servers quick I might do that.
