Rand will stick to his principles

The budget must be balanced

2 trillion dollar deficit is not sustainable and Rand Paul will hold the US Senate to account and will stop the wreckless spending

if the economy gets worse Obama wont get elected or the GOP will take over the senate and be able to override his veto's and then things will get done but yes, 2 years of gridlock is no bad thing

There is no compromise.

Balance the budget or get the fuck outta the way.

Sen. Rand Paul is coming to Washington and will read the US Senate lots of books holding everything up until he gets his way. He will have allies too in Sen. Mike Lee and Sen. Jim DeMint, which should allow him to take a break

Two subjects I rarely even speak out loud here are politics and religion... found out the hard way, you can't fight that battle here.

If you've ever been to Marshall County in Kentucky, you'd really change your tune about the rural areas.. I moved out of that county because of the racism there.... MOST people are so nice and kind, sure, but like I said, the ones that are bad, they are REALLY bad!! lol

oh I hate to say this, but there is quite a bit of quiet racism here, I just dont think about it since t is not overt at all and since I am white it is never directed at me. The population here has a large majority of whites

I do not know why Tam thinks Rand Paul is an idiot, but I think he is because he appears to be an uncompromising ideologue, and anyone who is that is an idiot regardless of party affiliation

I suppose you think our founding fathers should have negotiated a lower tax rate with the British rather than be uncompromising and fight for independence...

That being said...Ron Paul isn't as bad as everyone is making him out to be. Much like his father, his heart is in the right place, he just has some extremely misguided ideas.

True, but Democrats have not exactly rolled back anything. A pox on both houses as far as I'm concerned.

What have the democrats do to change that besides make the Patriot Act permanent? I dont know where you get the idea that I agree with what the Republicans did during the Bush years.

Ron Paul and Rand Paul are not misguided. Unless you believe freedom and liberty are misguided ideas.

I got that idea mainly from how adamant you were about McCain/Palin a couple of years back. If I'm mistaken, I apologize.

I agree with a lot of what Ron Paul says. I like his ideas on focusing our effort and resources on problems at home before we try to fix problems abroad. I also think he genuinely cares about and represents the little guy.

That being said, his "smaller government" rhetoric goes a bit overboard at times. He voted against net neutrality. He puts way too much emphasis on deregulation and the idea that the "free market" will save us all. I'm not some dirty hippie that hates rich people...but we've given huge corporations a chance to do the right thing and they royally fucked it up. I think government oversight and regulation for business sectors that have the ability to drastically harm our economy, environment, or overall wellbeing isn't socialism or communism. It's just a safety mechanism.

I don't hate either one of them. I think they have good ideas on certain topics, and bad ideas on others. I'm all for personal freedom and reforming drug laws. I'm against returning to the gold standard and banning stem cell research.

You throwing around phrases like "freedom" and "liberty", and telling people that they don't understand them or asking if they're willing to compromise them are very poor ways to argue your point. No one political party has a patent on freedom or liberty. People can disagree with you completely and still love America and freedom.

If your stance on an issue is the right one, you should be able to promote it with facts and reason as opposed to bashing anyone that doesn't agree with you
