Got my Paxum card in the mail today.

That was pretty fast. Only took about 2 weeks. And the card is pretty cool looking.

Is there a good reason to have one? How does it benefit you?

Oh, and for the record so far my Paxum experience has been very smooth. I signed up and they verified my account in less than a day. I sent an email question about something and heard back right away. So far I really like what I see. Seems like a great service.

Do you have a reason not to use a bank or have a bank issued card?

I am serious...I have never used anything other than a bank and would not do so.

Not at all. I have a bank that I have been with for nearly 10 years and a debit card from them I use all the time. But getting paid by epass was faster than waiting for a check. I also do a lot of freelance work for people, many of whom live outside the US and it was easier for them to pay me via epass. So I would just get the cash in epass, take it out at the atm and deposit it into my bank (or sometimes just do a bank transfer to my account.)

The card just gives me more flexibility and convenience.

So you have never needed to pay a designer or anyone that offers a service?
Or if you have they all waited around for a check or wire?

Also not everyone is able to walk into a bank and cash a check instantly....and some people do need that money instantly.

With paxum you can get your sponsor to pay you - and you can go straight to an ATM and take out $2,500 per day.

I am live in the states and I dont use checks. Too much hassle of it getting "lost" or the check turning out bad and sometimes my bank even makes me wait no matter how much money i have with them

So i can just get money in my paxum account and have it when i want it

Reasonable explanation. I do not have a need for a third party account and did not know that you do.

i really am having a hard time buying that you dont see a need for a p2p system. I have never had a designer tell me he is cool with waiting for me to send him a check.

I pay by check...wire or credit card. I get paid by check or wire. My bank will make me wait on a check if it is not written on their bank...but waiting is not a problem for me.

Sure I do. Here is he scenario. Say I do some work for someone from Bosina (or anywhere not in the US). They write me a check an send it when the job is done. So I wait between 7-10 working days for the check to arrive and then I deposit it and my bank holds it for another 7-10 working days to make sure it clears. So it could be up to a month from the time I finish doing the work before I actually have cash in my account. I suppose then that I don't NEED the third party account because I could just wait for the check, but the third party account means I can have the money in my hand within a couple of days instead of potentially weeks.

for me it is about convenience. I am willing to pay a few dollars in fees for the convenience of having this payment option and a lot of the people I do work for would rather pay me this way than write a check.

Where did I state that I don't see the need. I do not have a need for it but it is apparent that some people have a need for it. I did not know that Kane has a need for it.
