How can SUBMIT hits be so high, and JOINS so low?

New sponsor I am trialling as of last week:

Unique Join Hits Submits Joins Payout
12,858 1765 103 5 $175

Are they trying to tell me that 98 of those didn't work because of stolen credit cards / bank refusals etc?

Is that normal? I've not paid attention to any submit figures before. Seems ridiculously high.

That "hits" chart, is that hit that move them to "enter cc details" page or from that page?

It is them pressing the submit button after they have entered all their credit card details etc.

I am guessing stolen card attempts are rife. Didn't expect it to be that high a percentage though.

Aren't those submit hits just people clicking the submit button by filling in some crap data (which then gets rejected).

I think a lot of surfers will try to enter some bullshit to see if they can get access

I always thought join hits were hits to the join page
Not hits on the submit button.

Seems normal though.

I've seen some really high numbers on that too, like 200 submits 3 sales etc. Always wondered about It too.

You SHOULD PAY close attention to those stats, they can reveal things that you would never have known otherwise!

He is not talking about the join hits. This is join submits. so It's people entering in their info and pressing the join button.

This is true but not to the tune of 1:20. I get antsy if I see over 1:6-10 on some programs. The main program I push that gives out stats like this typically does 1:4-7.

With numbers like 1:20, I see the following culprit's:
1) Your traffic is crap. You'll see numbers like this if you have a sudden wave of Indian traffic, or similar countries that have difficulty billing.
2) Sponsor is doing something very wrong. Either with tracking or processing. I would ask them what kind of numbers they are seeing across-the-board and also with affiliates that have traffic similar to yours.

The submit page is where you ask for just the username and password & email :
example : http://join.blackmama.com/signup/sig...0.0.0.0&step=2

if they enter a username that's already taken or an email that taken, or invalid email address etc it will count as a submit.

I just noticed that, didn't look at the stats properly.

Still seems fairly normal to me though. I have similar looking stats on private cash.

how about letting the cat out of the bag.... in this tough economy you thought you were losing your sales to tubes, piracy, free content, etc.

Surfers have figured out that many sites have sexy images embedded on the join page. Consequently the surfer can masturbate to the images on the join form without having to submit.

Its the new shortcut around purchasing a membership, surfers just jerk off to the join page, or join form.

Its the only "possible" explanation. Any other possibility would be well...."impossible"

What's the site/program?

5 joins on 12k uniques is not that abnormal. Must be the setup of tour that gets the surfer to join page real quick. The submits must be first step of a 2 step process.
