Tax Cuts Side by Side - D's vs R's

Here is what the fight is all about...

Until you are making at least half a million bucks per year it is almost identical.

It is not until one MILLION dollars, that the tax break jumps all the way up to 10% of income earned, which is totally disproportionate to those of us in the REAL world!

You know, just about EVERYONE here on GFY for example.

Keep on fighting against your own best interests you Fox Noise idiots!

Another thing that rarely sneaks out into the light is that every income bracket grows wealth faster under democrat policies than republican. Including the wealthiest.

Better question is what happened for 6 years under republican control of white house, congress and senate?

These tax cuts have been in place for the past 7 years - how's that going for you?

They were NOT in place under Clinton however, yet the economy flourished.

Weird, right?

OK< I'll bite, how do you pull 6 years off a graph that states 1948 to 2005?
And how does that exonerate the democratic party for the shit we are in over the last 4 years?

The problem isn't that republicans arent willing to see the numbers, it's that president obama seems unwilling to base anything off the numbers.

He also should instantly just sign away dont ask dont tell because it's the right thing to do, it's all but DONE and he still seems to want sworn enemies to join hands and pass all the feel good bills for him to sign. They HATE you Obama! There is no joining of hands in your future. Can someone send Obama the link to this thread? thanks, lol.

By not standing firm in his opposition to extending the tax cuts for the rich, he will disappoint so many democrats, that he shouldn't even bother running for a second term in 2012.

If he stands firm on this, and FORCES the new congress to show their colors, even if he loses the battle he would be a winner!

Forcing millionaires and billionaires into a public tantrum, crying that they need special treatment, while raising the debt, which they claim to be adamantly against, is exactly the hypocrisy Obama should welcome!

They supposedly want to cut social services for the masses over this horrible debt. By blatantly voting to prevent 98% of the country from getting a tax break, unless all of the rich spoiled brats - who LOST the damned election by the way - get their fucking way, is something we should all get to experience!

Actually ALL of the fuckers in DC would be forced to show their cards - as both sides of the aisle are loaded with millionaires. The vote would put ALL of these douche bags into the public spotlight! Who is for the rich and their own self-serving agendas, and who is really in Washington for the rest of us - you know, 98% of the American people?

By caving in now, it is doubtful Obama will ever be able to recover - much less, within the next 18 months.

I dont think he'll force them though, although he should and could. HE is ever willing to compromise. Just like he tried to do and then went too far and got nothing in return on health care.

In that graphic above what "average" tax payer will save in each income level doesn't necessarily mean that that is what you will save yourself...

So, someone should create a table with EXACTLY what each side is proposing and leave the interpretation to the readers...

I did not change the subject at all - reread above.

You are defending something (assuming YOU are still on topic) that YOU will not benefit from.

Unless of course, you think we believe you make at least a half a million bucks per year, which no one here believes.

Democrats have been in control for 4 years and failed, you guys are beating a dead horse.
Pelosi is going to throw a big party to celebrate what they acheived , but she's giving up her gulf stream and the incoming leader of the house is going to fly commercial

You have yet to make a sensible statement yet, that proves, in any way, why these tax cuts should not expire.

The chart I hotlinked is an average of all presidents of their party over the years.

You keep saying democrats are in control as if you have not witnessed the minority party using every tactic they can to do nothing. And then out of the other side of the mouth I'm sure we'll soon hear how Obama and the dems have not been willing to compromise and work in a bipartisan fashion. The playbook is not secret, lol.

Your chart is flawed, the president hasn't the power to control everything, he needs the power of congress and the senate, find a chart that reflects that

Easy fix, abolish the income tax and it will be fair. But you love being bribed and pitted against your fellow American with your own money.

The chart is the chart! Agreed. It shows what it shows, and not what it doesn't. I dont know how else to respond.

YOU ignored the fact that the Bush tax cuts were NOT in place under Clinton!

Your spin as to who was or wasn't in charge under Clinton, completely ignores the topic, as usual.

Okay, let's pretend Clinton's 8 years were successful, all thanks to the GOP. That spin still doesn't explain why we need the Bush tax cuts, which have NOT produced anything worthwhile since their inception, as OPPOSED to the period of prosperity, under Clinton - WITHOUT the Bush tax breaks.

Actually it's at least $700 Billion over 10 years - not the first year - but it is still unfunded long term debt, regardless. You know, the VERY THING the rich conservatives are supposedly against - as long as it does not apply to them of course.

Cutting social services for the poor is okay though...

One could argue, like Obama is arguing now, that Clinton passed on Bush a terrible bubble economy and bush was trying to stop the damage the best he could. Not that I would argue that, but that is the same argument Obama and the useful idiots are using.

Having the government under one party control usually leads to bullshit in the US unfortunately.

I like that the House is now under GOP control with Obama/Senate still Dems.

Clinton didn't do well because he was a Dem nor because Congress was GOP.

He did "well" because both of them were willing to work together. Though the dot com bubble was pure chance... then the housing crash has been in the making for over 20 years... yet people still blame Bush..

Silly, silly. Stop playing partisan politics, kids. It's not sports.

Your chart is a lie bft3k, just like all the other shut you sell.
As explained before. The chart is showing a 10% difference on 1mil of earnings.
No one is talking about 10%. the actual number is 4.6%
you've been duped again.

Also, it's trash like you who think paying $350,000 a year for the same services YOU get for free is not enough of a contribution.
It's trash like you that is all that's wring with our country

He lost more power than any democrat president has had in decades. Why, because the economy has suffered under his presidency, because it suffered under democrat control of the house and senate for 4 years. Not in over 70 years has a president taken a beating like Obama did in the midterms.
You can blame Bush, you can Blame the GOP, but they were not in power. When you take the job, it's you who are to blame.
When they Democrats lost Kennedy's seat in the election, they should have got the message, but when they didn't they pissed off the American voters and paid for it.
It's simple what the American people want, they want the government to spend less, more in their pockets and more jobs in the US. Jobs that supplied by those that make over 250K.
That was that little group of people that got together in almost 3000 individual groups and called them selves the Tea Party. Even the GOP is scared of them. Why? because they are the people and they are organized. And all the left could do was belittle themselves and call them racist, even though a couple of the candidates they back were black and now for the first time in history, the Black caucus is going to have a couple GOP members.

When the GOP asked about working with the stimulus bill , Obama said "I WON", now he has "LOST"

A good spinner could blame the Clinton bubble over the deregulation of Wall Street under Reagan - and then follow that up with the fact that the mortgage bubble that burst under Bush, could be blamed on banking deregulations.

The rich still made out like bandits in both cases, while the middle and lower classes felt the pinch, from all of this irresponsible behavior.

Semi-unrelated to this post topic: Obama has passed legislation to curb both of those special interests, and the heat is on. Those with enough power and wealth to protect, want Obama out, so their games can continue without supervision, which will not help almost ANY of us!

They have convinced MILLIONS of Americans to, once again, vote against their own best interests, to benefit the very few.

No, actually, unlike you, Americans understand that EVERYONE deserves a tax break, especially those who pay the most.

It's only the uneducated trash of this country that falls for the "evil rich" nonsense

Or said so that even the stupid can understand:
If a 5% raise in taxes creates a $100k event,
Imagine how much of your way they're already paying.
