We should hook up.. I run a small circus down in Tijuana and I have been looking for a guy that was good with speed estimates...

People would pay to throw things at you, like rotten vegetables, bottles, rocks, etc and you would tell them how fast they were traveling..

We would use a radar gun to verify your accuracy and if you were no more than a mile or two per hour off, they would not win a prize..

Let me know ASAP.. This could be very lucrative for the both of us..

Of course I hope you are as good as you say you are...

That would be incorrect.

My estimate of speed wasn't based on opinion, it was based on science. If you're both here at one point:

|--------------------------------------
|--------------------------------------

And then a few seconds later you're here:

----------|----------------------------

And the other guy is here:

----------------------------------|----

And you look at your speedometer, and you're already well above the speed limit, that means the other guy is doing probably double your speed.

Now, maybe if my judgement was somehow affected... for instance, if I were drunk or high... then maybe the accuracy claim could be debated. But that's not what we're talking about. Trust me when I say I'm pretty good with speed estimates.
Thats where our opinons are different. You may not think the fact you were speeding at the time of the accident means anything but that doesnt mean whoever questions you in court will feel the same.
i dont doubt your esitmations at all..All im saying is you already admitted to breaking the law..then after i pointed that out you withdrew the part about you speeding...then i ponted the fact your story was changing and how if that happend in a court of law you would lose all credibility..

Then 2 non-reading comprehension fuckers (cheesefrog & canyflip)stepped in and now look like dummies lol

like i said before i was just playing the devils advocate..you inserted yourself into an investigation wich may show the SFPD at Fault ..be prepared to have some tough questions thrown at you ..thats all..peace

so i am surprised the Prius held up so well.
a woman was killed near my house when a young man (he was killed also), accelerated his MC to around 100mph (on a 35mph residential street) and buried his MC inside her car when she was making a left turn, he simply had too much inertia energy going to even slow down.

I've seen photos of similar accidents. The MC will hit the car like a dart... completely penetrating the car. Scary shit...

EMERYVILLE -- A motorist hit an Emeryville police officer parked on his motorcycle Tuesday evening, injuring him.

Officer Arnold Salaiz was stopped at San Pablo Avenue and 43rd Street about 5:30 p.m., along with another officer in a marked patrol car, allowing pedestrians to cross the street.

According to police, a motorist failed to notice the officer was at a standstill and crashed into the back of the motorcycle, sending the officer onto the road.

Paramedics treated the officers at the scene and then took him to Highland Hospital for treatment of other injuries that were not considered serious.

"The officer had some bumps and bruises and road rash. He was treated and released," said Emeryville police Officer Brian Head. "The motorcycle is still in good shape."

The driver of the vehicle, who was not injured, was not arrested and permitted to leave the scene of the incident after California Highway Patrol finished its investigation.

Oh shit, I saw this right after it happened just the other day. I was kinda scratching my head wondering why I've been seeing all these police motorcycle accidents lately...

Yeah, must have been a different crash, because the one in the pix you posted shows a side collision, whereas the one in the article I saw would have more likely caused front bumper damage to the Prius, since the claim in the newspaper was that the police motorcycle was hit from behind.

Yeah, they were two separate accidents, a few months apart. Ironic I saw them both, although I didn't witness the 2nd one when it happened.

Doesn't matter what you say because unless your speedometer was calibrated, when you witnessed the officer allegedly gaining distance on your vehicle at the high rate of speed, then it's as if it weren't even there in the eyes of the law.

You're also not trained & certified to provide visual estimations of speed to the court. Part of radar/laser training is visually estimating a vehicle's speed multiple times, within 5mph of their actual speed, in order to be able to testify in court that a vehicle was traveling in excess of the posted speed limit per your visual estimation.

Well, they were the ones that asked me... I figured it must have meant something to them or else they wouldn't have acted like they cared.

*if* he ever had to testify in court, they wouldn't care that he admitted to speeding...
he's not the one on trial.
The judges actually tend to be quite fair.
that being said, glad insurance might go after the cop....
