Online Video Services (Mainstream Hollywood Flicks)???

So we're finally stepping into 2010 and getting on-board with one of the on-line movie services. Anyone have any feedback on which top the list as far as number of titles available and release dates for their movies. I think I recall hearing somewhere that Blockbuster has new releases out "X" number of days before Netflix or one of the other major players. I could be totally wrong about that but for some reason I'm thinking I heard or read that somewhere. Oh, not sure if this matters but I guess we'd be setting up a service to use via a PS3 or an Internet enabled Samsung TV that has all those widgets or whatever they call them. Any suggestions? Blockbuster, Netfix, Hulu, Vudu, etc?

What's the new release availability like on NetFlix? Can you get the movies the same day they're released on DVD or better yet are they available when the movies are still in theaters like the services at hotels?

Netflix is great and crap all at the same time.

It's great if you mail in your dvd the same day you get it and watch it.

It's great if you have an ipad and your kids want to watch Blues Clues on demand.

Its a bit crap if you want to watch a lot of movies yourself on demand. They are just not adding to the watch instantly stuff fast enough for me.

I am useless with the mail in dvd thing, I've had one sitting here for ages that the kids tore up the envelope, haha. I'm not going to cancel because the kids love tons of shows on the ipad. I just wish they would add more watch instantly for me to watch the odd movie either on my imac or on tv from bluray player.

Though I can't swear to it, I think it all depends their deal with each studio.

If you're talking about Netflix streaming then no you're not going to get new movies. As far as their DVD rentals well many of them are a 28 day delay beacuse of new agreements they made with the studios which allow them to have access to more content for streaming.

If you're looking to stream "same as DVD release" movies then you're better off going with Vudu. This is PPV though to you'll pay per movie unlike Netflix streaming which is $8 a month for all you can eat.
