I added some new haters
First thing this morning I get a call from the manager of the light and water department.
We had a big snowstorm yesterday and while one of our maintenance men was plowing snow in our Bobcat he hit some electrical device. It popped some very damn costly fuses and knocked out all the power to everyone on the other side of our frontage street. A mobile home park and the rest of the industrial park. They had no electricity for over 7 hours. So we have a bunch of angry neighbors and I am getting the bill to repair it all. A downside of being in business. I thought my GFY haters would enjoy knowing that they have some new allies.. |
makes you wonder how many kids were left without power for seven hours, during a 'very big snowstorm'
|
I'm starting to question if you really are who you claim to be. No offense but if I had a huge non-adult company to look after and untold millions of dollars, I wouldn't be hanging out here on a regular basis... or saying the word "haters".
|
Those pesky Bobcats. I once ran over part of a large irrigation system line with one & ruptured it, didn't realize what had happened until returning hours later - water water everywhere, including places where water wasn't supposed to be. Definitely an "Oh Fuuuuuck......" moment.

I stop by here a few times a week when I am at the office. What else would you call people that hate you? Is there a better word.. |
your insurance should cover it :pimp

Send the people across the street something... even if just a hand-written note of apology for knocking out the power. One day there will be a zoning question or some other unforeseen reason that one of them needs to say yes to something and 'that nice company across the street' is much more likely to get approval from them than 'that asshole who made us all freeze half to death' a few years ago. :2 cents:

Throw them a bbq.

I would send a form letter along the lines of ??
"While flying over my factory in my private jet I noticed a dark area just east of my new corporate water feature ??.. . |

My ride home was white knuckle the whole way. Visibility was down to almost nothing and there was 5" of fresh snow on all the roads. |

In other news, you picked up a new gfy hater due to using the term *haters*. Prolly could have snagged a few more if you spelt it haterZ.
|
Surely Minte has insurance for such things.
|
It's your loss really. I was working on a spreadsheet that could have saved the world but when you knocked out power to my trailer it was lost.
Enjoy the apocalypse, asshole! |

They might use your fountain as a toilet now

Also gives your bobcat operator time to lose a few pounds before being seated in the BBQ community dunk tank ;) |

I'm not a hater and I can't remember if you exactly fit this or not but sometimes conservatives fall into this. It's one thing to care about the country and do what you can to make the nation better. It's another to already be wealthy and to then spend hours every day complaining about people getting food stamps or children getting free sack lunches. If you have a nice life, enjoy it! Be thankful. There is no need to be so negative.

Stop whining you installed a 300k fucking water fountain for Christ sake. You will be fine.
if not then im sure u will regret that purchase. Id opt for some nice landscaping any day over a 300k fountain. Shit ...or even some human Mexican furniture lol. How much it cost per year to keep that birdbath working? |

The front yard is 16 acres and as it is the contract and down payment has already been issued for a large landscaping addition. Just waiting for the spring. We are first on the list. How much does it cost to run and maintain our fountain? I don't know. But whatever it is, it's worth every penny. It's a great place to have meetings and lunch. :) |

It's a done deal. I am going to have HR put it in motion tomorrow at the morning staff meeting. It's the very least we can do. It was tough on the neighbors and tougher on the city electrical staff that had to repair it during what was nearly a blizzard. |
Are you sure you are going to be ok??

Good move on your part. Might be some good benefits you never imagine. Toss in a few door prizes or something. If my hydro went out because of your contractor guy and you tossed a BBQ for the neighbourhood...I'd sure as hell respect that. |

What's the name of that trailer park that all lost they power from this and shit? Funny, cause one of my redneck homegirls from POF was complaining about something very similar happening to her trailer park yesterday. Would be funny as shit if it was the same trailer park you talkin bout.
