damn man - does anyone else get discouraged these days - this is starting to get really bad

people, especially those that don't produce content are failing to see that this is worse and worse each month. traffic aggregators like tgps and mgps and all those sorts of people will be affected by this shit in the long run too. i cannot believe how a blind eye is turned by many as the "cost of doing business" online. everyday the content is devalued a little more and as these types of sites grow in power selling our stolen content they be come stronger financially with money they made selling stolen stuff. fighting a court case is a lot easier when its done with stolen content revenue.

anyhow, i think i should just write something for avn or xbiz. maybe people would listen a little more if i took the time to really break it down for people.

thats the reason that people need to start caring. if no one gives a shit and doesn't go after these kind of fuckers, more people will open sites because they know that theres a bunch of pussies that wont go after them.

people can laugh and say the skys not falling all they want. web 2.0 is making it easier for any asshole to steal content and sell subscriptions to it.

Everyone talks about "back in the day" how you could put up a simple banner and make good money. Simple reason, there was no free content out there.

I just really feel that people dont see it's the affiliate model that's under attack by sites like this. Sure content shooters/providers have lawsuits, but it's the AFFILIATES who are losing business right and left by things like this.

Unfortunately, it's always the same people who always advertise on these sites too. I guess they feel that because their products aren't affected by content theft that it's okay but sooner or later karma is going to hit them like a brick wall.

finally someone else that gets it.

affiliates will be affected in a major way by all of this in the short to long term. i dont see these stolen content sites paying out any checks.

affiliates and sponsor programs are the ones in danger. only the thieves win.

people need to remember that.

Yeah of course. Back 7 or 10 yrs, there was uproar from free site builders about these new "tgp" sites. They were upset because the tgp's were linking direct to their free site gallery pages, bypassing 2 ad pages. People used to block them with htaccess!!

So it is not a stretch at all to think that one day the ripper sites will charge for ad spots, and charge to permit sponsors to upload watermarked clips, lol. I mean for real.

I've dealt with these guys. They have removed content for us without any hassle. As long as you are civil and unthreatening, they are good at removing content.

I believe I read somewhere they are tied into the Pirate Bay. In fact, PureTNA.com (bit torrent community) is also owned by them.

if anyone is sitting on their hands now thinking that these types of sites are not going to affect you more and more as time goes along, you are sadly mistaken.

we need to start a theft defense fund and get money from all the programs out there that shoot content to go after these assholes. i got the perfect legal counsel. the guys a pitbull and he will eat these mothers. as for the ones out of the country, well, there are ways to deal with them too.

those familiar and up on intellectual property law know this kind of thing is blatant theft. there is no "we're sorry, we'll remove it". the stuff shouldn't be there in the first place.

keep in mind that there are even SPONSORS that support these kinds of sites.

in one recent case i talked to a sponsor and was told straight to my face to back off that the site sends him tons of joins.

go figure.

I understand and agree with you completely. Please, do not think that I am condoning anyone's content being there to begin with. I was simply offering up my experience with them.

Also, some of you may want to consider learning more about GAPA (Global Anti Piracy Agency) I'd provide the link but I don't have enough posts yet ... I would personally love to see an organization like this take off and do well in the fight against piracy / theft in our business.

many many more need to care. the one thing that needs to sink into affiliates brains is that it will affect them equally if not greater than it will the content producers. when content ends up on these sites, the surfers will end up there too. i don't see thief sites offering an affiliate program or they will definitely get busted and go to jail. more and more traffic will end up at the thief sites and less and less through affiliate sites. mark my words.

They run sexbankroll, cecash & fleshlight ads on there.

Fleshlight has said a few times on GFY that they'd have them pull the ads, never happened.

nope. not shane's world specific. i've always been someone who's watched this area of the industry very close. people are wearing blinders and it is going to come back and bite them in the ass. i don't want anyone to pat me on the back really, i want them to hold their balls and go after these fuckers. its kinda like when an infection starts spreading in your body. eventually, if you don't fight the infection, its going to eat and arm, then a leg, then the entire body dies. same thing. fight now or watch your bottom line go bye bye. :)

there is no one that can stand up and say that this kind of thing is

1) not easier to do than ever
2) condoned by the lack of enthusiasm to end it
3) not going to hurt affiliates hard
4) not going to hurt sponsor programs hard

there is no argument to be made on the opposing side that its helping out any of us. so, why isn't the industry doing something about it? i can tell you.
