i hight doubt shaving is as widespread as some people would think, you would have to keep a lot of programmers happy so they don't spill the beans

ndas work perfectly for this

Mack 08-17-2005 07:54 AM

brand0n, I'd love to earn your business and change your perception enough for you to not have to use the word "everyone" in your post title.

Donny 08-17-2005 07:58 AM

I shave every morning. I don't see what my shower habits have to do with sales, though...

Theo 08-17-2005 08:02 AM

long time ago

well a sale is not always $20, but with shitty paysites it barely reach that and the shave-o-metter goes crazy.

nexcom28 08-17-2005 08:02 AM

Everyone shaves.. :uhoh

Tam 08-17-2005 08:21 AM

I honestly don't think all of them do, but I do think there are several that do. I KNOW of some that did/do...... lmao

But seriously, I think there are probably more than we think that do shave, but I don't think anyone respectable would pull something like this and risk getting blasted, and we ALL know, if you do, you will get caught sooner or later.

Believe it or not, there ARE some out there in this industry that do run an honest business and can't even get their heads around cheating anyone. ;)

JD 08-17-2005 08:22 AM

When I started/stopped promoting Epic....those fuckers shave at like 40%

I could so totally have so much money right now if I could just bring myself to lower my values a little.... but I can't :(

Snake Doctor 08-17-2005 08:31 AM

I make $30 per sign up with Naughty America (revshare of course) and I can guarantee you there is no shaving.

Yup, I know exactly what you mean.... but I'd rather be poor or not AS well off than to cheat anyone. I kinda like sleeping at night.... :thumbsup

King Porn 08-17-2005 09:45 AM

I could only hope that most sponsors, at least the big boys don't shave.

SixNine 08-17-2005 09:49 AM

SoulCash doesn't shave and you can test it all you'd like.

I wish it was fake. This is a screen capture, and no I will not tell anyone where it is from.

baddog 08-18-2005 12:21 AM

I know FlyntDigital and Adult Paymaster are not shaving me

eroswebmaster 08-18-2005 12:22 AM

I pray for the day that the DOJ busts some heads on shaving.

Time to go sacrifice yet another goat, maybe tomorrow the gods will answer my prayers.

CDSmith 08-18-2005 12:25 AM

I found it funny that a few of my really old sponsors, ones that I had just let the rebills run out over time on, had shaved me my one remaining rebill a few times. It's like you have one lone rebill month after month... then suddenly one month goes by and no rebill. You think "that's it, no more cheques from that sponsor".... then the next month that lone rebill is magically back again. :D

Shaved!

Hey, gotta laugh over that.

Digipimp 08-18-2005 12:29 AM

i wouldn't say all of them do it, but i'd put it at about 80% at the least. if you even look at it logically, when sales dry up on one particular sponsor for nearly everyone at the same time, are the odds in favor of all the surfers quitting buying at once from that one sponsor, or the sponsor is just shaving a little harder. obviously anyone with half a brain can see that thousands and thousands of surfers don't all get together to conspire to make your ratios double for only a limited amout of time.

jayeff 08-18-2005 12:33 AM

I can just about count on one hand the number of solid exposures I have seen over the past 9 years. So assuming there are people from time to time who have real evidence, they must either think it gives them an edge of some kind to keep it to themselves or else they are too scared to show it. Either way they help the thieves keep operating and sit back while webmasters go on getting screwed.

Most shaving complaints aren't near as clear-cut and if one ever looks like it might be taken seriously, the sponsor usually has enough friends, etc to come along and rubbish whoever is complaining.

If you think about this for more then one second you are wasting you time.

Send traffic, make checks, stick with company that makes you the most money. Worry about stuff you can control. period.

No, webmasters chasing high payouts are why programs shave.

If you had a shave proof program (dunno how you'd do that but if it were possible) and you paid $20 per signup, nobody would send you traffic.

Open a program with custom coded affiliate software that has a built in shave feature, and offer webmasters $40 per signup, and everyone and their brother sends traffic.

If you pay an honest $20 per signup nobody sends traffic....if you shave half the sales and pay $40 per signup everyone sends traffic.
If you're a program owner which one do you do? Do you sit on your soapbox and scream that the companies with higher payouts are shaving......while you go bankrupt?
Or do you play the game by the same rules as everyone else and make money?

pornguy 08-19-2005 09:01 PM

I would not say all, We dont. But I will agree that MOST do.

Pornwolf 08-19-2005 09:25 PM

This business should step back and allow a little more honesty into it.

detoxed 08-19-2005 09:48 PM

What an idiot, everyone DOES NOT SHAVE. Bottom line, not everyone shaves, some do, some dont. Think what you want, but most of the people accusing of shaving are wrong.

nah.. you offer $30.. earn a good amount of honest money even if it's not as much as you can get shaving.

aye.. it probably wouldn't be worth it though.. someone would eventually find out and you'd be fucked for short term gain.

No its not, don't be ridiculous.. programs shave to offer high payouts their sites can't sustain and because they're greedy.. will's statement is just fucking commonsense. If you aren't tracking outbound clicks against your payouts and using that as your only barometer then you're not really doing your job in looking after your income and protecting yourself against shavers in the first place.

CC processors have a lot do with it too... I've seen that myself, one week you get a lot of sales, the next week you get half, and I know for a fact that that sponsor doesn't shave... Whenever someone sees a dip in sales they always jump to conclusion that it's shaving, when in reality most of the time it's hardened scrubbing on the processor's end or some other issue... :2 cents:
