Comcast Routing and CCBill

Hey guys,

If any of you are Comcast customers you may want to see if you can login to your CCBill admin. I am in Houston and we are not able to link through via CCBill affiliate links nor are we able to access the CCBill admin.
It appears that Comcast made some changes to their routing tables and I am timing out to the following:

admin.ccbill.com (ccbill admin)
refer.ccbill.com (all affiliate tracking links)
images.ccbill.com (join page images)

Some loser tier 1 support person had no idea what a tracert was and was supposed to transfer me to a tier 2 but instead through me into a hold queue and I wasn't ever helped.
30 minutes on hold without anything.

I tried to email the support department via they very brief html support page but it wouldn't let me include enough data to make a difference. I wanted to give them tracerts to show them the issue but I guess they don't want to know.

Check it out and see if you are able to hit those urls. Comcast has a lot of paying customers that may not be able to get to your sites via affiliate links.

it's called a traceroute

I'm on comcast in Minneapolis and I can hit those sites just fine.

comcast Louisiana link doesn't work here:(

Rattlehead 07-14-2011 09:46 PM

The command is "tracert" when working from a command prompt.
It's a given that it is a "traceroute" for individuals that know how to run one.

Only on Windows is it called "tracert", and that's because windows only supports/supported 8 character command names.

I'm using Comcast in South Florida and have no problems logging in.

GregE 07-14-2011 10:04 PM

It's working for me now (1:02AM EDST).

I believe there is a way for the host of the site to modify the path or route to the server to get it too work. if comcast doesnt want to fix it. Does it affect the signup page?

MikeSmoke 07-14-2011 10:13 PM

I'm on Road Runner in San Diego and can't hit CCBill either.

MikeSmoke 07-14-2011 10:25 PM

Last night one of our upstream providers experienced major networking issues. We quickly switched to another provider but due to the severity of the issues some people may have had trouble reaching us during this time. We apologize for the incovenience and continue to monitor the situation.

JustJ 07-15-2011 07:20 AM

I heard there were some major backbone issues do to weather somewhere.. There was a recorded message when you call comcast.
