Shouldn't be too tough. Gorilla has decent docs and admin to make the customizations pretty easy. I do hate themes that look so 'bloggy' though.

Can't that graphic just get swapped out for the artwork of your choice?

what would be your suggestions fris? (sites proposing great themes, free or paid)

Pretty good theme really.

yeah clean with lots of function, I like it too

definitely doesn't look horrible

as for something simple/complicated, nothing in wordpress is too complicated to handle even if it requires some catching up

like the lady cartoon.
