How you deal with your employes?
Are you behind them and giving them all the directions or just leave them to do their magic? ... personally, i prefer the second option
|
Both. You need to captain the ship a bit.

as hell will not tell him how to do it. :1orglaugh |
Depends on the task (and the employee). If it's grunt work - as in, do this simple shit over and over again - then not much interaction. As long as the work gets done I don't care how or when they do it.
As for anything 'creative' then it's more hands-on and more communication. No one likes to be micro-managed but you also can't be totally absent either. |
Once per year one is chosen at random and beaten to death with a steel dildo.
The rest work quite efficiently for the next year. |

I've dealt with both creative thinkers and brain dead mofos. If ya gotta detail every single step out ya might as well do it yourself. :2 cents:

managers manage. leaders lead. sounds like you do neither.

offer them money

Varies with each individual.
Some are best left to their own devices. Others require frequent supervision and direction. A good manager is one who recognizes his employee's strengths and weaknesses and knows when to step in and when to back off. |
If they are over 35 you can usually let them do their magic. Anyone under 30 seems completely useless and flakey in my experience. Also watch what kind of car they pull up in. If it is a lowered and customized Honda Civic then never consider hiring them regardless of race, age of gender. Also when you interview them make sure they have the ability to feel empathy toward another human being as sociopaths will destroy your business..

You need to guide them, but not doing their job

It's best if I dont deal with the employees directly. That's what the managers are for.

Personally, I set metrics and offer rewards and imply consequences. Also, whenever I encounter an asshole, I follow this path: do they produce? publicly humiliate them. If they chill out, they stay. If they don't, fire them, regardless of the consequences. If they don't produce, instantly fire them. Seeing assholes get fired is good for everyone. Half the time after they're gone, you find out they were really much worse than you thought. However, I've never managed a manager. I'm not sure that works for layers. |
great responses
the key is the right hire . |
my new boss lady doesn't even allow me bathroom breaks. She sent me adult diapers and told me to get use to ABDL :winkwink::1orglaugh

It depends on the size of the company on how you handle employees. It also depends on the quality of people you hire. If you have to micromanage your employees, then you probably shouldn't have hired them in the first place. If you have to micromanage your managers, then you should have never promoted them to management.
|
Standing behind them or continually answering their questions teaches them to wait for you to do everything.
Even the lowest of jobs can be done without a manager behind them. If they're hired and directed correctly. |
