Auto generated access credentials VS let users decide them
Hey guys,
sorry for dumb question but what do think about giving members auto-generated credentials? Would it make the signup process faster and smoother or do you think they would hate not choosing them? Any direct experience with it? Thanks, TA |
Auto create for quick joining with the ability to set for those that are inclined.

I'm not a fan of auto generated passes because they seem to require more user support because how can someone remember that and a lot of adult membership site confirmation emails go to spam.

I'm not a fan. I use two banks, one has username that's first 3 letters of first name + first 3 letters of last name, then 4 numbers. The other is just a bunch of numbers. I can never remember the login for the second one.

do what yahoo used to do.
show auto generated usrnames list , onclick sets them or they can create their own. |
At the end I decided to go with email + user generated password. :pimp

Randomly generated passes:
- are more secure (they are unique) - require more customer support User chosen passes: - are less secure (guaranteed you have "coffee" and "qwerty12345" in there, plus usernames and passwords which are used on more than one site) - require less customer support |
