                                                                                          This is something I've been wondering as I watch more and more AI songs pop up on youtube, implying they are by major artists. They make fake videos to accompany the song using the artist's likeness but never directly state the artist is behind the song. I'll usually see 100's of comments under the video from people thinking its some new collaboration from the artists. I'm wondering how long its going to be before those artists sue youtube to take down those videos using their likeness.

                                                                                              AI Music is so fresh, is so new, it is a joy to listen to and experience the liberation of creativity, so that now even the grandma down the street who always wanted to make an opera song, she can work at it and tune it to sound like what she's been imagining for 50 years. AI Music has turned me on to some K-pop now, some sick ass AI K-pop tracks for sure.

It is a privilege to make art in society, which is why, despite being dirt poor and struggling, I have never turned to crime to support myself and other than speeding occasionally, I generally behave like a gentleman. Being able to produce things that you just made up (or received) is the reward itself. The journey IS the reward, anything more is just gravy on top.

                                                                                                                                                                  So many artists and scientists died broke because the journey WAS the destination, getting "rich" had nothing to do with it.

                                                                                                                                                                  Now art today is little more than slop that was built on slop, pushed by psychotic people in charge of spreading their control over the media, ran like a cult, with the same artists appearing over and over and over again and choking out new artists and new vibes.

                                                                                                                                                                  AI Music is so fresh, is so new, it is a joy to listen to and experience the liberation of creativity, so that now even the grandma down the street who always wanted to make an opera song, she can work at it and tune it to sound like what she's been imagining for 50 years. AI Music has turned me on to some K-pop now, some sick ass AI K-pop tracks for sure.

                                                                                                                                                                  No question that the output can be crazy good. No question that the possibilities are endless. But, I'm a realist. So, i think the question is not who owns the rights to the music/art, because it is most definitely owned by the Artists / Record Label / Song Writer / Etc. The question is, is a song created by this AI (that was created or inspired by the Original) violating any sort of copyright. If it's deceptively similar and the models used were trained off of or from that music, I'm gonna say yes. But, I think it's open and free game to use right now. I suppose the rest is open for debate.


                                                                                                                                                                  There are some providers that have not used any other Artists work, but the end product is like listening to porn music from 1970. So, yeah ... not really there yet from my experience at least. That's what I meant by choose your provider wisely. Suno and Udio both have used Artist's songs to train their models, which means you are basically using someone else's talent to create this music. Does that mean that what was created with it it will be at risk at some point? Not sure ... but I'm sure the outcome of this lawsuit will set a precedence. Until then, enjoy the show.

                                                                                                                                                                          Sure, I get it that when Star Wars came out, IP laws prevented 100 other studios from making a "Star Wars" sequel. But AI Music is different. It is democratizing music. It is removing creativity from the hands of the gatekeepers and giving it back to the people.

                                                                                                                                                                                  In regards to these two companies, I don't know enough about which data they used to train and how it was applied, so I'll reserve any judgements on violations until I know more. Either way, like it or not a lawsuit has been filed (which anyone can do at anytime) so it won't mean much until an almighty judge has ruled.

If you create and record a song yourself, that has real value because you made it with your own mind, hands, voice, and skills that you perfected. If you tell a computer to generate it for you, where's the value? The only value may be in the prompts, but even then, it is the AI's own "imagination" that is filling in all of the blanks for you.

These tools can make almost anyone a singer and made mistakes made by pros. Do auto-tuned singers have the same value as fully natural singers?

Many singers including those you probably know in love, are now "singing" to their own backing tracks. The "Live" vocals you might expect at a Live show isn't always Live anymore.
