12Clicks and Standard Internet - Stop this Scum
Every day, I see post after post of people complaining about adware/spywqare infected computers. The source of most of this scumware comes from our very own 12Clicks. The simple truth is, he is COSTING YOU MONEY!! His aggressive adware/spyware programs are popping up ads over top of your ads, and making the surfing experience for most users quite miserable.
I know this industry is basically one of few or no business ethics, but come on people. Grow a spine, and let this sleazy businessman(?) know that this type of business model is simply not acceptable. BUT DON'T TAKE MY WORD FOR IT!! To test this for yourself - IMPORTANT - DO NOT DO IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A VIRUS SCANNER IN PLACE - Insert the following piece of code in between the head markers on a blank webpage. The open up the page in a browser. (Note: This code comes directly from the affiliate link page from popuptraffic.com. one of Standard Internets program). Here's what my test this morning revealed: First Pop-up - Stopped by McAfee - Downloader-TH TROJAN trying to install loader.ocx. This is SPYWARE. And 12Clicks (Ron), none of your juvinile responses are going to change this Second Pop-up - Same as above Third Pop-up - Free Screensavers - This program is known to carry with it coolwwwsearch and a number of other adware components, all guaranteed to make the user's internet experience a living hell. And here's the real catch. Uninstalling this piece of work does not get rid of it. The only way to clear your computer of this VERY aggressive adware is to use 2 or 3 adware/spyware removers. They will reboot your computer numerous times in safe mode, before this scumware is eradicated. Until you remove this, expect pop-up after pop-up that Win XP and the other pop-up stoppers can't stop. And why should you care. This is why. Not only does the removal of these pieces of scumware cost businesses millions of dollars each year, but they also cost YOU money. Here's how. The surfer decides to click on an advertisement for your site. 12Clicks program pops up another site in front of yours. The surfer either get's pissed off and closes both windows, or goes to the first window he see's...12Clicks. Forth Pop-up - Free Ringtones - same action as Free screensavers And I searched and searched for a disclaimer for screensavers or freeringtones that indicates that you are also agreeing to a host of adware being installed on your computer, I can't find it. I guarantee, 12Clicks will post his normal diversion response, and I welcome it. But, for the rest of you, be rest assured, I never make a claim without thoroughly investigating first. I've given you all the steps you need to test this for yourself. Have fun. |

Watch 12clicks diss everybody in the thread from now on . really getting old
|
Christ dude, it's getting really fucking old.
How long have you been whining about this bullshit? And what have you accomplished? Give it up. |

Yes, and until I see the heat being put on this type of business, the obsession will remain. But, the beauty of this is that, yes I will get the same 5 or 10 gfy board whores that will always add their 2 cents..just because they like to see their words in print. But, it is not them that I am interested in...they are already a lost cause. It's the other hundereds of gfy members that simply sit in the sidelines, never posting, that I post this info for.
Case in point, my last post regarding 12clicks is within the top 20 for the most viewed posts on gfy. But only about 12 different people posted in the thread. But, back to the business at hand. Don't let 12Clicks and Standard Internet steal money from you and from businesses all across the country. |
It's pretty simply to solve this... 12, do you or do you not install aggressive spyware?

49thnobody tells a story that if he told in the US would cost him everything he owns. :winkwink: ask him why the FTC won't take his calls. After all, what he describes is illegal. the FTC would be all over me if it were true. figure it out. |
12clicks suddenly gave me the urge for McDonalds...
|
Yawn......
|
its quite simple no matter how 12clicks tries to spin it the answer is YES, he is a scumware provider. And odds are MOST people here have been infected by his products.

yah, but you didnt tell anyone where to find this JS. So really, you aren't looking too good here. |
This argument has been going on for some time. Although SI products may not be popular with webmasters or surfers for that matter the question there is always one question that remains. Is SI breaking the law?

one day 49thParallel will piss off the wrong people

<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript" src="http://www.popuptraffic.com/assign.php?l=testlink"></script> P.S. As a safeguard, you might want to change the name "testlink" with another random name. This will prevent 12Clicks from changing the ad delivery for the particular link I have provided. |
Yep, 12clicks/Standard are a bunch of shadey fucks. Always have been probably always will be ...
What can you really do about it though? More work for my computer-cleaning business that I run on the side lol .. -p |

Why is everyone so intimidated by 12clicks? Has he realy built himself up so high and made himself look so big that he is untouchable ? Has anyone actually talked to the FTC about his company? Is what his company doing illegal? If so, why hasn't someone made a complaint or contacted the proper authorities?
