You could never get me to buy a Celeron... It is akin to buying a 386 when a 486 is available... back in the day... You might as well just buy a 1.8gz PIII and pay less but get more done.

As I said it is a good WORK computer
for day to day task
email
ftp
icq
shit like that - so a celeron if fine
I have a celeron and I Have had it for YEARS not one problem

People who seem to have problems with pc's are the ones who overwork it and are hard on it.

I rarely EVER have a problem with my computer EVER and I am the most non tech person in the world

OG LennyT 05-11-2005 01:19 AM

Yep, good deal for a 'guestroom desktop' or second pc.

THe $399 deal is better... P4 2.8 ghz.. pay $40 extra and get the P4 3.0 ghz with HT.. Comes with 17 inch monitor, or 15 inch flat panel... all wrapped up and ready to roll..

Order two machines and get the free shipping discount too..

Maybe you should just keep your girlfriend occupied in the other room. That way your friends aren't an issue....and you'll save some money. :2 cents:

P.S. Dell rocks! I'll never buy a different brand computer...with alienware being the exception

GatorB 05-11-2005 06:01 AM

Maybe I'll get that for my mother. I'd still upgrade that memory to 512MB. But I'm won't pay $60 for it from dell

GatorB 05-11-2005 06:47 AM

$99 for shipping? Sorry they just lost a sale. Between the shipping and the sales tax that's 1/3 the cost of the computer.

Orgasmics 05-11-2005 06:55 AM

This is a much better deal... p4 2.8 - 15" flat panel + free shipping. $349

A) it says shipping is $79

B) I have a monitor no option to remove monitor.

Odd... I put it in my cart, estimated tax and shipping and it showed 0$ for shipping. Maybe it's a regional thing?

Never hurts to have a back up monitor.

Meta Ridley 05-11-2005 07:44 AM

Go ahead , argue about computer deals :1orglaugh

Their monitors are flat panels, and If I wanted to buy one I'd rather get it serperately where I can get the exact model I want. The ones they have are average quality at best.

Sosa 05-11-2005 07:59 AM

there is nothing good about a celeron processor...

Axeman 05-11-2005 09:09 AM

not a bad deal for new computer owners etc. Or to get the parents finally into the computer age.
