STORING TAPES IN THE Fridge- What's The Deal???

anyone storing tapes in the refridgerator? how well do they need to be sealed? Does this improve the integrity of the tape noticably or just a fun thing to point out to house guest? :winkwink:

Don't do it. The fridge is too cold and humid. When the tapes come out, condensation will form on the tape and then you'll be in a world of shit.

yeah, but most people that do it will bring the tapes they need to use on the morning of the shoot

after shooting in porn valley for 2 years i saw this more often than not...almost everyone we shot for did it

Yeah, I don't see any practical reason why you guys are doing that...

Eisenhower building in London, its like 25 miles of underground tunnels we used in WW2 and perfect for storing films & pictures

close. it's the humidity OUTSIDE the fridge that causes the problem in your example.

Yeah, I dont think someone would put them in the fridge with out some kind of case, If i was to archive them id vacuum seal it and put it in a nice cool place..

I just heard of a company that does most of the storage for the old classic reels from some record companies. They keep their tapes in a cave like setting. Seems like the humidity would kill them in a plain ol fridge though.
