STORING TAPES IN THE Fridge- What's The Deal???

anyone storing tapes in the refridgerator? how well do they need to be sealed? Does this improve the integrity of the tape noticably or just a fun thing to point out to house guest?

Don't do it. The fridge is too cold and humid. When the tapes come out, condensation will form on the tape and then you'll be in a world of shit.

Yeah, I don't see any practical reason why you guys are doing that...

Eisenhower building in London, its like 25 miles of underground tunnels we used in WW2 and perfect for storing films & pictures

close. it's the humidity OUTSIDE the fridge that causes the problem in your example.

I just heard of a company that does most of the storage for the old classic reels from some record companies. They keep their tapes in a cave like setting. Seems like the humidity would kill them in a plain ol fridge though.
