Does anyone else own a Boxer? [pic]

I have one that I love to death but he FARTS LIKE THERE'S NO TOMORROW!!! He does it strategically, too. He'll lay down so his ass is right in your area and then let it go. They smell horrible!!! I've bought him new food and I'm pretty close to buying him Beano for dogs.

He sleeps right next to my bed and he snores so bad that I find myself waking up at night throwing pillows at him.

With all that said, I wouldn't trade him for the world. He is one of the most loving dogs in the world and I love him more than anything! :thumbsup

His name is Jackson but his nickname is Fart Machine. :winkwink:

tristan_D 12-22-2005 06:38 PM

Brandon99 12-22-2005 06:40 PM

Yeah, but mine has a tendency to bite people.

i love dogs....

As far as the farting and smelling bad, buy some premium food. That(might) really changes a lot. Not sure if you have it on your country(under the same name) but try Eukanuba or Royal Canin...

I just went out and spent $50 for a bag of food called California Natural but he still farts like a champ.

Eukanuba cost here like 15 euro for 3 kilogrammes...Otherwise ask a petstore/the vet for a premium food(not sure if yours is a premium food) And it will take like 7 days before the old food is "done" in the stomach so...

Also don't gibe him/her to much crap food :-)

sumphatpimp 12-22-2005 06:53 PM

if the change in dog food don't fix the problem, see a Vet.
A dogs digestive system is alot more sensitive than ours.
you don't want to mess with this.

I think it's my fault because I give him a lot of people food. My girl yells at me for it but I just can't help myself.

sfera 12-22-2005 07:16 PM

negative :)

chazer 12-22-2005 07:25 PM

i have 2, if you aren't a member here http://www.boxerworld.com you should join up, good msg board for boxer owners

oh and boxers are know for their snoring and farting ;) and burping, and drooling and getting into shit when you aren't looking.

DaisyDuke 12-22-2005 07:25 PM

Aw Jackson is adorable! I have a boxer too and she has THE worst gas ever as well.... and she eats Eukanuba. It might help if you try not feed him too much people food that usually creates some pretty good gas because it affects their digestive system... especially cheese.

split_joel 12-22-2005 07:29 PM

yah i got a boxer at my dads

Stallion 12-22-2005 07:37 PM

cool looking dog!

dig420 12-22-2005 07:38 PM

don't feed him anything with rice in it :2 cents:

MandyBlake 12-22-2005 07:46 PM

he's adorable.
our dog cj (boston terrier) shits himself like there's no tomorrow also.
we've tried several doggie gas aids and they all work for like 3 days and then stop.
we're leaving him in the kitchen during our xmas eve dinner. lol
its THAT bad.

pornguy 12-22-2005 07:48 PM

These are my two fart machines.

They both like to lick the baby food bottles, and it gives them gas that will remove paint from the wall.

The first one is Akasha, and she is pure mutt. We saved her from the gas chamber at the anti humane society

This is Sayonara and she is a pure bred Akita. All 120 pounds of her.

I have a boxer, haven't noticed his farts yet... he is still young..

But i had a pit that sounds like he must have been related to your boxer.. he would always get up and turn his ass towards you before he was going to fart

Vitasoy 12-22-2005 11:53 PM

Aww adorable looking dogs, I had a dog in the past.. so I know the feeling all to well.

That's a cute little bugger, Sam. I wouldn't mind having a dog that size so I could hold it while I was petting him. My dogs now are an 85lb Boxer and a 78lb Labrador Mix with a bad temper (he's my guard dog. No one gets within 100 yards of my house with him around).

I love big dogs but I also wouldn't mind having something smaller to be dependent on me. :thumbsup
