How many companies Bit the dust in 2005
Its just about time to pour some for the homies again. :drinkup
Every year programs, companies and people come and go this one's for ya :drinkup |
I think 2005 had fewer starters and fewer failures than the years before. People are starting to realise selling porn is not as easy as they thought.
|
I can't say how many bit the dust for sure. But I remember for a while there, I got an email every week from another program that just up and folding for good.
Frankly I was surprised that the businesses were in such bad shape that they couldn't be sold even if just to save face. Matt |
I expect many will go in 2006, and I am sure that another evolving of the industry will take place.

but its not as easy to get traffic and do well like it used to be unless you have experience. :2 cents: |

Another part to this question is how many have just left the industry? We could hoist a few for them, too.

I'm still here for another year, stronger !

Experience is key. Paying PPS isn't that hard if you have experience. Demands on sponsor programs have increased with more compeitition. It just means we have to be faster and smarter at evolving. Over the last 3 years of running Wildcash.com we perfected PPS & converting traffic to conversions. Now its just a scaling game. more sites, more content, more services to affilates.
I don't remember too big names that went in 2005. 2257 changed a few programs though. |

I think most programs/websites stopped because of personal things. Like Tiffany Teen, though Phil-Flash-Cash still doing well.
The most annoying part of 2005 was Ibill and the stunt Verotel did earlier this year :disgust |

Biz bankrupcies...
Quote:
By assuming that, they invest WAY too much, before they realise that reality is completely different. You only hear about the success stories, but never about all of the bancrupcies! The entire statement of "sex sells", sucks. I mean, everything sells, even a hotdog with ketchup sells. But in porn, from the outside, you generally only see the glamour of it. Even I "play" the role, where I dress up in Versace rings and gold pimp stuff. And a fair part of the "act" is playing dosile and laid back, like it's all really easy. You don't really want to show the nitty gritty countless hours of planning and marketing events etc that you must do to get things roling. But, "they" actually believe that you're drowning in cash... that has come easy. But, with all the newbies etc, thinking that this is easy, they hardly ever actually digg into the what's and how's etc in advance. They don't even take a closer look at the reasons for why some go bust, and others do well. At the start of 2004, I heard of a company over here that were starting a "brand new" Internett Erotic shop.... yeah, great stuff, nobody thought of that before... And they went to a product supplier and had estimated approximately 20,000,000,- Norwegian kroner in one years turnover!!!! Haha, fucking dorks. A simple check at the tax office would have told them that the biggest company over here in this field, that also has 8 physical shops, only turned over 14 million the previous year, and that is after they have been in the branch for like 12 years, and supply all major outlets! Naturally they went bust. But, they are not alone in this misconception of this-is-the-easy path. To a large degree, I think most bancrupcies are good, to clear away much of the crap and cons that's going on. This is a marked based product. Just like everything else. The only advantage I can think of, is that this is a lot more fun. |

If youre lookin for simular sites try us out :) hit me up for a cool deal 16 19 547 or bob AT dutchteencash DOT com |
We came on the scene in 2001, we have seen a lot of companies come and go in those years.
Meanwhile we are going stronger than ever and coming off another record sales year. The number of sites and programs that have shut down since 2001 is really high when you stop to think about it. In 2006, I think we will see more shut downs than start ups. |

I am not really sure what I am looking for to tell the truth... I just want something that works, and is easy enough for people to actually use. This Verotel thing seems to fix that. Last year (2003) I tried some YowCow thing. I kept getting Mails telling me people have signed up, but were waiting for their payments etc. At the same time, the same people were sending me direct E-Mails asking for a normal invoice as they couldn't figure out how to use the CowTow thing. So, this Verotel system seems to be doing the job for me at least. |
"how many companies bit the dust" - not sure - but Im going to make some more bite the dust this year.
Fucking A I am. |
Saw your Site

I took a look at your Site. That looked like some pretty bad stats! But, I have nothing to compare it to, as I am new to this. Do you have stats from something that is better? What Site were these stats coming from? |
I think PureCash left in 05. Sad to see them go.
|
Nilsy42 - brilliant post man.
I expect lots of smaller sites using CCBILL and such (and even some with third-party solutions) to die (not closing in effective terms)....things are quite different nowadays and it takes some serious investment to stay on top and evolve. |
