No tapping out in streetfight

Quick, somebody tell these guys grappling doesn't work in real life!

In all fairness, the guy choking the other one out really isn't a grappler and just probably watches alot of UFC's.

Rickson said something along the lines of 'If we're fighting for money, I'll stop hitting you when you ask me to stop. If we're fighting for any other reason, I'll stop hitting you when I feel like it.'

Grappling can be effective in a street fight, depending on the situation. Not for "submitting" someone, but there's almost always a "ground n pound". I'd say 80% of fights end up on the ground one way or another, unless a good punch is landed quickly. There's always that one guy who initiates some wrestling so he isn't at arm's reach of a good punch.

Grappling is useless when you fight against more than 1 opponent.

Very good post Gman. THe thought of grappling is burned into people's mind as fighting off your back. This is in all probability due to Royce in the earlier UFC's beating everyone on his back. :)
