Bosnian angry with 'funeral' no show

A Bosnian man has written to all his friends to complain after only his elderly mum turned up for his funeral.

Amir Vehabovic, 45, faked his own death just to see how many people would attend.

He then watched from the bushes as only his elderly mum turned up for the burial in the north Bosnian town of Gradiska.

In the letter to the 45 people he invited to the burial he said: "I paid a lot of money to get a fake death certificate and bribe undertakers to deliver an empty coffin.

"I really thought a lot more of you, my so-called friends, would turn up to pay their last respects. It just goes to show who you can really count on."

It doesnt suprise me at all.Hard to have real friends at this modern age.Everyvone care about money and nothing else.

The funny thing is why doesnt any one ask the question was this guy that much of a jerk or a dick? He prob was a huge ass and no one really liked him... he was prob high ranked at something somewhere and people would only be his friend to get something

That's a very cynical attitude.. I agree to an extent that money makes the world go around.. But there is still room for true friends in life.. it would be a shitty life with out them.

It has crossed my mind a few times, if I were to die, who would be at the funeral (incineration really, if my wishes are followed).. But why should anyone really care.. If you die knowing you have done your best to be a decent person, surely you can die happy?

True friends are possible, but they certainly aren't the easiest to find, and I'd think he is right in assuming it's getting harder. Lots of people will hang out with you, and are cool to be around, but when the time comes that you really need them a fair number won't be there for you. Perhaps just my experience, but in my whole life I'd rate only a few people as true friends.
