Optical Illusions that make you FATTER

A large part of eating is psychology and perception... |
Great article. Guy has some valid points, for sure.

Good article. I believe your eyes do play a big factor in what you eat, and tricking them is easier than we think.

Thats great and all, and I have to say I agree to an extent. However, if somebody puts down a small plate, your going to notice. The best way to do it is just learn what is enough for you and try to stick with that. I've lost over 70lbs (not for long if I keep eating all this damn pizza) and most of the loss was from portion control. (and only drinking water) Weight is just like any other issue you have, if you can't learn to check your eating habits, then your going to carry extra weight. Just like if you party all the time, your going to eventually lose control crash and burn. Moderation and balance folks. ;)

I read his book, its very good.

Saw many such tests and it really went to show that we are fucking terrible at visual portion control. Some of the tests done on everyone from kids to adults (who knew better) showed scary results.
However the reverse is not working for me, I am trying to gain weight and I figured hell I could trick myself into eating more by using larger plates, etc. |
pretty good :thumbsup

There are some very good points in the article.

The same principle is used by hot chicks who surround themselves with ugly friends.
