Question about translating a website

I was looking into promoting a few programs that had sites in different languages (through my sites and having them translated) but i feel that it wouldnt be worth it if you go to the part where you enter your billing info and its all in ENGLISH

I was checking out a few today through CCbill and content is all in another language but the billing info is back to English. Personally if i was going to a site and it was all in English and when i went to join and was in French/German/Spanish, etc., I would bail

thoughts?

No need to translate, that's just a lot of extra trouble. I promise that the horny surfer, when he sits there he will understand, or he will learn real quick.

I wouldn't worry about translating adult sites. Mainstream, maybe, all depends on what you sell or push. But adult, no not at all. Translations would probably be full of grammatical mistakes, like AFF which has a really cheap translation, probably by a machine, grammar and word order is often totally off, and people just don't take it serious.

I wouldn't trust my credit card number with someone who can't even spell, because - what other mistakes can they do? So stay with english and do it good. Most surfer's don't come to your site to read, they come to watch.

i believe the ccbill pages are geo targeted so you would have to be in that region to get the right language showing up, dont quote me on that tho

I don't think it's worth translating.

Yeah I think you can get the CCbill pages to be in the right language too. You should hit up Omar at Globally Translated. I'm sure he can be more help. ICQ- 242621053

CCBill offers geo targeted join forms which display the local language properly. The program owner has to use geo targeted join forms. You can ask him to set one up.

Translation, well itīs like god. You have to believe in it. For SM niche sites, German customers using them are mostly well educated and speak English anyway. So translation is not required. And a bad translation is more or less funny and doesnīt really help to convince a customer to sign up.

The average wanker doesnīt speak English but is not as interested in text as the niche site visitor is. He wants to jerk off immediately and doesnīt care about text. So a translation of your advertising text isnīt as important as a translation of the join form. The average joe needs to get to know what to type in to the join form, or he wonīt be able to sign up.

So if you feel the need to translate, start with the join forms.:2 cents:
