Companies raising minumum payouts without notice. WTF!?!

I just ran across a couple after reading the first post in this thread:

http://www.gfy.com/fucking-around-and-business-discussion/956540-deal-slow-pay-programs-excuse-excuse.html

2 examples:

Tranny Pay - used to be $100 now $200
Niche Castle - used to be $25 or $50 - now $200 (big difference for new comers)

<rant>Honestly I don't give a shit if they raise it, I just want to be notified. I'm sure they will enjoy drinking the blood, sweat and tears of new webmasters. </rant>

Just another way to screw their affiliates.

There could be many reasons.
Maybe they have experienced fraudulent activity in the past weeks.
Or maybe they do not value the traffic from their affiliates anymore and concentrate on internal traffic generation.
Raising the minimum payout is a way to send a signal to prospective affiliates and weed them out.

Its a way to keep money off newbs who can sent 1 sale. Or 10. depending on their scale...

Read the fine print when you sign up to a program. and when your new dont spread yourself too thin.

They have a one month delay on payouts. That buffer is to give them time to detect / deal with fraudulent activity. I would put my money on sending a signal. They obviously value the traffic, they just don't value the webmaster who sends it. :2 cents:

not so bad if you only promote a few sponsors but if you promote a shit load kinda sucks as you will have a little money in a bunch of accounts and take forever to meet payouts, one reason most of the shit I promote is ccbill as it all combines into 1 payment.
