Poll: U.S. Wants More Health Reform, Not Less

The poll found that about four in 10 adults think the new law did not go far enough to change the health care system, regardless of whether they support the law, oppose it or remain neutral. On the other side, about one in five say they oppose the law because they think the federal government should not be involved in health care at all.

Well... many of us here knew it was wanted, to an extreme. Just before Obama was elected, the polls for healthcare reform, addition, gov/social, all of them was off the chart in favor. It was only after the smear campaign started that the approval dropped, but once people started to learn/realize that getting your foot in the door is better than the door being locked on you.. it started to change back.

America WANTS this and a minority of people are attempting to botch it up. If the Republicans truly try to fight this, it will be the single thing that bites them in the ass.

Actually, the Republicans ARE fighting it AND it's helping them. The irony of this is everytime a poll comes out that goes against your beliefs and illusions, you attribute it to just being a poll or "fear mongering". Guess what, at the end of the day it's still an unrepresentative poll. I can find you many where the majority of Americans don't want Obamacare, and others where Americans want the government to stay out. At the end of the day, you'll still lie to yourself:)

Also, LOL@smear campaign. The lengths stupid liberals will go to, to convince themselves of something is priceless.

Tom_PM 09-27-2010 08:15 AM

Also, if the Bush tax cuts for the rich created jobs, we'd all have jobs out the wazoo right now.

Maybe the first 10 years was just a slump.

That's not how it works. Theoretically, tax cuts for the rich are supposed to increase capital investments, which could increase jobs. However, those capital investments went into an increase in outsourcing overseas, so it's not that the tax cuts weren't effective, it's that companies are looking more and more overseas.

Helping them with what? Mid term elections? Everyone position that has flipped so far would have flipped without healthcare - pretending like healthcare has helped you, please.....

And without question the right started a smear campaign, you can call it fear mongering if you like, others call it a smear campaign. It's not like smear campaigns are a new strategy for the Republicans, so you can stop pretending like it hasn't happened.

Yep, we can find polls in all directions (it's not hard to slant a poll) but what you can't ignore even in those polls is they're close. So even if we took your theory as true, still half the damn Country wants it.

But the reality is, the majority want it... that is without question and if the Republicans 'attempt' to take it away, it will be the largest backfire they've ever had.

dyna mo 09-27-2010 08:22 AM

the u.s. government couldn't legislate itself out of a paper bag, why would anyone think they could write viable healthcare legislation.

So you're saying the exact opposite would be "spoken like an unhealthy man without health insurance"? In essence, you're saying there's no objectivity when discussing this? I'm trying to figure it out because my post had nothing to do with coverage whatsoever.:winkwink:

Orrrr.... We could state the truth and say personal tax cuts don't create corporate growth.

Oh right, it's the Republicans that create smear campaigns. The Democrats are totally not guilty of this. ROFL:1orglaugh
And it wasn't the smear campaign that was the failure of Obamacare, it was the stupidity of the democrats trying to shove this down our throat. Morons like Pelosi are ruining the Democrats' chances this November.

The majority DON'T want it the Republicans have used the failures of Obamacare to gain steam for the upcoming midterms. Keep rationalizing:)

Or we could ignore your nonsense about corporate growth and personal tax cuts because we're talking about tax cuts for the wealthy, and capital investments which have little to do with "corporate growth". After we ignore your nonsense, we can say that tax cuts for the wealthy HAVE in the past increased capital investments, but they A is not a guarantee for B.

Yes, that is pretty much what I am saying. Objectivity does not come into play on this topic.... and least not for the majority of people who have a strong opinion. I have very personal reasons for wanting health care. Now that is just me, but from what I have seen it seems as though everyone on either side of this issue has personal reasons for their POV.

I think objectivity works here just like in most cases. The problem is 9 out of 10 people on this forum are too stupid to be objective. I want healthcare reform just like most people. The issue isn't healthcare reform, but the specificity regarding what kind of reform we want.

Oh yeah, it was for sure an extreme smear campaign, filled with an extreme out of lies and false accusations that continues today. Like today, Republicans trying to say Obamacare will cost you more money than current healthcare. That is such a clear lie, it's just pathetic.

Yeah, that was actually the first thing I looked at (it's near the bottom fyi) What's great about them is when you share them, the are the only proof needed to end an argument, when others share them - they're wrong.

75%+ want it... that a better number for you? When I say majority, I really think it's 80-90%. I think if Bush put this out, you would see a lot less fighting over it. That a better way to word it? That your side and many that don't like Obamacare are simply hypocrites... you would take it, but not from Obama.

If you think the healthcare will win you midterms.... HAHAHA. Son nothing surprising is going to happen with the midterm, everyone that will flip was already expected to flip. And not a damn one of them is flipping because of Obamacare. Only a complete idiot would think that.

DateDoc 09-27-2010 08:43 AM

I am all for a smaller govt but I have no issue with healthcare being nationalized. I bet if you polled more people and asked them, "would you like healthcare provided for by the govt, at no additional cost to you, would you approve that?" more than 4/10 would say yes.

Obamacare, as it is, will not work. There are something like 15 states already suing the govt over it. I do not think repealing it in its entirety is a good thing either. Keeps the good parts (no caps on insurance policy, no denial of insurance for a pre-existing conditions, etc.) until we can figure out how to do nationalized healthcare correctly.

Invite the top experts from each country that has nationalized healthcare to come to a summit and pick their brains - what works, what doesn't and if you could redo national healthcare what would you change?

Lets do it and do it right!

Your stupidity has been shown more in this one phrase than ever before. Isn't it too early in the week for you to be embarrassing yourself? When you make a claim and you don't provide evidence, that's called making shit up. But everyone already knows so you have to rationalize by saying I haven't provided proof for your lack of credibility, which is evident in each post. Good show Doc, I swear people can't make this stuff up.:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

Really? It's a lie? Prove it. Since you lack the intelligence and ability to be objective, your posts are meaningless. See, the CBO and other non Republican groups estimate the costs being exponentially more expensive with Obamacare. But you don't like hearing the truth so you continue your hilarious rationalization. I guess when Obama says one thing and someone says something else, everyone else must be lying!! ROFL:1orglaugh

Nationalized health care runs well only in countries who either have a population that's a fraction of ours, or who are running various surpluses. And even then, foreigners come here for things such as operations. Therefore, it's not feasible in this country anytime soon. Even unreasonable tax rates won't be able to cover the costs.

Well of course it would be more expensive with Obamacare, it's an added service, ie cost, on top of things - duh it would add more. See, that wasn't hard to prove at all.

But that doesn't mean my costs, my yearly costs, are going to be more if I went with Obamacare vs. my own.

I said Obamacare wouldn't cost more than 'CURRENT' healthcare... and it won't. If you want to say, adding Obamacare will add to the cost - that would be correct. Out side of that, I've never seen a report say Obamacare will cost more than all healthcare - is that you're trying to say?

Are you really going to attempt to confuse that?

I read it... It wasn't hard to read. It took me a week of reading it very part time. If it was my job to read it, I could have done it in an afternoon.

Hehe, pork... is that the pork that some States get more money in other areas that other states? Not exactly pork, but hey we can name it whatever.

The GoP would never support a healthcare bill/reform, change, etc. They pretend like they would, but the reality is they would never support it either way.

You haven't actually insulted anyone though... Your half lame twisted up words, I'm right-you're wrong crap, isn't any type of an insult. That's what's funny, you're a joke man. You get trashed by even the Republicans on this forum, it's pathetic & funny all mixed into one.

I'll let you get back to pretending you're in law school, ever studied economics and pretending you do any sales online, period. :1orglaugh Such a poser.

Personally, I don't think anyone should do it

Poor guy. He gets his ass kicked so much he has to randomly start making things up, and then make us all laugh by saying "prove me wrong".:1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

The only sad part about your stupidity is that I've proven I make sales online. I'll let you get back to being a failure in your own industry, as well as a laughing stock in it.:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

I did have a reply. You obviously can't read very well which is why you were predictable in ignoring the entire post and replying with a scripted insult.:1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

No, I didn't bitch about it all... probably why I'm not bitching about Obama doing it.

Difference is, you're bitching about Obama doing it, but never said anything when Bush did it.

Yes, It is a bit moronic, which is why I haven't said shit about it.

Difference? You can't vote with a Corporation.

So you won't trust Corporations till they are government ran?

I was a moderator of this forum during when Bush did it and was not allowed to comment on politics, whats your excuse?

HAHAHA and I predicted that TheDoc would completely make shit up and claim that the stats are fake. Just like clockwork. This middle aged moron is just too funny and easy to humiliate.:1orglaugh

An eggplant topped pizza is another great meal option...

Hehe, pork... is that the pork that some States get more money in other areas that other states? Not exactly pork, but hey we can name it whatever.

The GoP would never support a healthcare bill/reform, change, etc. They pretend like they would, but the reality is they would never support it either way.

do you think the people that voted for it read it? And better yet understood it?

Excuse? I don't have a problem with it. I know that they have more than one way to do this, so trying to fight it, is useless.

That still doesn't change the fact that the right/republicans "now" have a problem with it, and not back then.

Yeah... if they didn't read it, they shouldn't be voting on it. And yes, it's really not hard to understand, even for me. The problem, if you would - is trying to keep the entire picture in your head while you read it. But that's like any set of laws/ideas, the main law might be simple but if you group up all the changes, new laws, amendments, regulations, etc and put them into one bill most would be 1000's of pages long and our Gov has no problem understanding these broken apart items, let alone one written together.

What a Dildo. Claim you make all this money, post an unreadable small ass shot that no one can read and everyone disses you for, then come back and try to use it in another argument. I can see why TheDoc says your a poser. Loser is more like it.

Awww what's the matter alesser? Tired of getting your ass kicked too? I love how you use the word "Everyone" to describe 1 person. By that logic, everyone makes fun of you anytime you post, and everyone was able to look at the image and verify it. Also, I'm sure everyone is positive you didn't actually even bother reading the thread, just hopping on coattails. Words of advice, don't hop on the coattails of a buffoon such as yourself. Keep trying, chump.:1orglaugh
