Do search engines pickup signatures?

I mean...if I post in forums, and put my link in my signature, will a search engine pick that up as a link??

Yes, unless forum has "nofollow" in signature links.

Yup it surely do.. And give your website "do-follow" and "no-follow" depending upon the forum.. Many people using this technique and giving niche based quality backlinks to their websites.

If you are posting comments for SEO purposes spend your energy elsewhere. Even when a forum allows links search engines don't place much if any weight on them. Google and others know what forums are like so getting links from them means nothing in terms of indicating the importance of your own website.

Try writing article for other websites where a couple of links are permitted in the article.

As written above, if there is no nofollow, se will use it. But also as written above, it is almost always waste of time especially on big often updated forums. Wait .... I wrote almost

If you can find some almost never updated forums with good rank, it will have some sense to post something but do not spam it, your post should look like real

In order to reach to the niche market following the popular forum which caters to your target group is the right thing to do. So make a study of all popular forums that in ways relate to your site and make sure that these allow a simple link to your site .
Blogs and forum look for valuable posts and in return provides link to your site, so at the end of the day it is a win-win situation for both the forum and your site.

They do however you must note something. In the anchor text for the href you should really be using keywords NOT the link itself. The point of this is to connect the keywords you are using with the destination of your link. Yes to anyone who points out I AM NOT DOING THAT... I know I have under 30 posts so the only place I can put my freaking url is in the sig lol. FOR NOW!

Do-Follow doesn't exist.
Google follows nofollow, and he will know about your site, but doesn't put it in index.
Yahoo totally ignore links with rel nofollow.

When i see some ppls which are offering SEO/SEM services and they don't know nothing about it, i got puke.

Its not like what you said my dear friend!! "Do-follow" exist for sure and you need to have combination of dofollow and nofollow backlinks for proper boost in SERP.

Let me explain..
This is a simple classic hrml link:

Code:
 <a href="http://www.twistyshotbabes.net">Twistys hot babes</a>
and it shows like Twistys hot babes

Now, on this link you can use some attributes. For example relationship attrib.
Relationship attrib in HTML language have been shortened to rel.
The rel attribute specifies the relationship between the current document and the linked document.

Rel attrib have its own syntax. Is like <a rel="value">.
Our topic is Follow and noFollow so we will use this rel tag.

Lets get on the beginning with my code:

Code:
 <a href="http://www.twistyshotbabes.net">Twistys hot babes</a>
and it shows like Twistys hot babes
This LINK is on default basis Follow and it will be followed by SE spiders.

If you want not to be followed, then add rel="nofollow", so it will be:
Code:
<a href="http://www.twistyshotbabes.net" rel="nofollow">Twistys hot babes</a>
The list of acceptable values for rel attribute:
  • alternate
  • stylesheet
  • start
  • next
  • prev
  • contents
  • index
  • glossary
  • copyright
  • chapter
  • section
  • subsection
  • appendix
  • help
  • bookmark
  • nofollow
  • license
  • tag
  • friend

And at the end, attribute DoFollow doesn't exist, reconcile with that.

Greetings
