Blogging about porn...

It's kinda hard to blog about porn when porn is mostly a visual thing. I can write about stuff I'm into, but I'm pretty much at a loss for words for the stuff I'm not, unless I have a keywords list in front of me to build on.

What's your technique?

I think having a list of keywords as you suggested is a great start, and just keep writing. After making a few dozen blog posts in a certain niche, you'll automatically improve your ability to write within that niche. Just keep writing.

It does depend on what type of blog you are running. Does the text need to be written for actual readers or just for the SE? I suggest if this is a new blog and is getting very little traffic to begin with, you just write for the SEs (lots of keywords) and use these SE optimized posts as a way to practice writing for the surfers in that niche. As traffic eventually accumulates, your ability to write effectively for actual readers will have improved.

Also, visit other blogs in the same niche every once in awhile to get an idea of what that niche is all about.

just write a sentence with alot of keywords like...Hot slut in pantyhose takes it in the ass and gets facialized while sucking cock. Lots of keywords and makes sense. Good for SEO

What people have posted is pretty true.

Blogs are basically KeyWord DRIVERS for your main sites that ARE visually oriented. So construct your network accordingly.

I always thought of text on adult blogs as the nutrition facts on food containers, and the surgeon generals warning on cigarettes.

The text has to be there, but no one actually reads it.

As a porn surfer I just want to click on the pictures and look at the galleries, and vids.

Write about what turns you on, I use keyword tools for SEO purposes.

There are a couple of free ones, this is my favorite Word Tracker

yes, keywords attract spiders and ultimately bring SEs traffic.

Sorry to jump on your thread, but out of interest is there any particular blog sites (tumblr/wordpress etc) that people prefer to use for this type of blogging? Similarly do you actively promote your blogs elsewhere so as to increase their exposure to the SEs (as presumably if you don't then they'll never get a good ranking so the backlinks to your main site won't be much help anway). If you do this then what's the real advantage of having a blog rather than just creating a page on your actual site focused towards certain keywords and doing the link building to that, surely that would be more effective?

Just thought i'd ask as it's always confused me slightly the real value in setting up other blogs to promote ones main site, i hope you don't mind

Dave

That's why SEO'ing your posts are of the utmost importance. As of this moment at least, the spiders eat up text. Give the spiders what they want.

personally I have found that looking at the competition's blogs is not terribly helpful. Most of the porn blogs out there are obviously written by foreigners willing to write a lot of low quality content for a cheap rate (ie they hired some guy from India or elsewhere to write posts for $2 an hour.)

Definitely write keyword rich posts based on a list of keywords you have in front of you. I would very much disagree with people who say to slap a bunch of keywords in each posting.... Google factors in keyword density. If you mention a specific 3-5 keyword phrases repeatedly throughout your posts you'll have a much higher keyword density FOR THOSE WORDS.... There is a saying, when you're everywhere you're nowhere. You want to establish to google that you are an authority on a given set of phrases not that you will just spout as many keywords per hour as possible.

KW density is basically a myth. Im not saying they dont use it in the algo, but im pretty sure its a very minor ranking factor. Just write a bunch of shit to describe each gallery/video. Put in the keywords, make it natural. U will get a bunch of longtail traffic from stuff you never even tried to optimize for.

I'm going 50 blogs to drum up traffic as we are a new site..they work in bulk first of all. Pick good SEO domain names and keywords and visuals like pictures and even vids with tracking codes are a MUST!

Best,
A
