The A-Z of setting up an adult website with exclusive content
Hi Guys,
This might be a long post, and unless someone has a link to a site out there that has the answer I am looking for, then I guess replies might get long too. So let me start out by syaing thanks for reading - and even more so for replying! Here's the simple deal: I have shot about 40 scenes with around 25 models. Hardcore b/g. Good videos. Full HD and looking great. So that's all good. Except of course that I have spend lots of money on getting this far, but with nothing online and nothing set up, needless to say I won't be making a cent. Because here's the complicated deal: I know how to edit videos and photos and can do a pretty decent job at design. BUT! After having spent way too many hours and days trying to figure out how to get all that together into a functioning adult website where members can sign up, I have almost given up trying to work it all out. Here is what I know that I need: - A safe, sign-up/members system - A solid MySQL database - A credit card handler And, most importantly, integration of the three. I can't work it out. I can't figure out whch one to do first and how to integrate with the others. And it seems, I can't even figure out getting any of the three things going independently. For the life of me I can't find a tutorial online on how to go from A to Z on constructing an adult member website with the full works. Can anybody help me out? Or does anyone know of a tutorial I can get cracking on? At this point I am also willing to consider paying someone to do the job if such a thing can be done at a reasonable price and with someone solid who I can rely on to get the job done. Thanks for reading. I hope posting this question here will bring me closer to cashing a bit in on all the dough I have spend on making material. It would be about time :-) |

- A safe, sign-up/members system
- A solid MySQL database For these two all you need is a content management system (CMS) and there are several for adult sites. You can do one dirt cheap with Wordpress or spend some bucks for Elevated X or something similair. - A credit card handler CCBill and Epoch are the biggest and most popular for adult sites. To save money some new webmasters use Zombaio. You can certainly hire someone to do all this for you or just do more research and do it yourself. There is a ton of info here at GFY and your eyes will start to bleed from reading it all, but its something you'll just have to do if you're serious about starting a site. Good luck and hope this helps! |

Another option, one I plan on testing out. Set up a clips store and or a members site with clips for sale. Obtain your domain name for the site you really want to start and put up a page or two with previews, link those pages to your clips stores and members site. This is a hassle free way to earn cash from your content towards building your own site. When you have your site built just implement it and continue to benefit from the traffic you've already established. Yeah, you'll have to split your profits, but you don't have to use all the content and you make some cash towards building your own site.

Thanks for the input, guys.
As for being serious, that is something I sure am. I thought the tough part would be getting hot girls to do porn, and then I could always figure out how to get it all online and make a little money back on the material. Well turns out, in just over a year, I have done 40 scenes, most of the girls between good looking and stunners. So I definitely don't want to get stuck there, but need to get things going. As for using CMS, I have always used Dreamweaver and thought I could do it all that way, but is that way tougher than using a CMS? And if I do, which one sjould I use that is the best combo of easy to use but with wuality results? How about Joomla? Any more info on how to actually integrate all these parts. I know I need a safe login/signup system, a MySQL database and a CC handler, but have no clue how to make them work together. What goes first? I have looked around on these pages, and my eyes are not bleeding. Finding lots about TGP, but haven't found anything about building what I intent to build from scratch. Sort of a dumbies tutorial would be great. Thanks again. Any more input would be great. |

I get the feeling I phrased my question wrong, and that is was understood that I could not build a website. Since the above really doesn't answer my question, let me try a more simple version:
I can build a website, I use dreamweaver. I already have all the design and preview photos and videos on a website, now I need to figure out how to integrate a secure login/user system and a payment solution. And I need these two work together and need pointers on where to start on the integration. Thanks. Hoping for help. |

Hi Tom,
OK Dreamweaver would be good for page design, but not for the whole site. a content management system would help you release content in a more uniform way without having to create a new page for each. It will allow for you to use templates making design changes easier to implement. I might not be good at designing websites, but I can build the mechanics to make templateing easier. If you look at the documentation for he payment processer they will be able to advise how to integrate some of the features like member management through server responses. Hope this helps Rob |
