More than 1M pages indexed. Less than 1K daily visits.

I have created a site and managed to get over 1million pages indexed by google, with more than 600K indexed in google videos. However, I cannot seem to get more thank 1000 daily visits, which is earning me just over $1 per day.

Can anyone provide me with tips on how to drive traffic and monetize this site better?

Trade your traffic with plugrush you could also sell pop ads or ad block ads.

I have been using plugrush to trade some traffic and sell traffic, but it has only been getting me a few hits a day.

why do you think a million indexed sites will bring you lots of traffic? If it was so easy.....

Well, obviously it is not going to get me a lot of traffic, but I assumed I would get more than I am.

Regardless, I am seeking ways in which I can begin to generate more traffic and increase what i can earn off of the site.

If you're looking to increase SE traffic, then you need to up your SEO game. Titles, meta descrips, internal link structure, ALT attributes, throw some actual text on the pages and not just pictures, etc...

I've done mainstream development & SEO for over 15 years, so feel free to hit me up if you have any questions (same goes for the rest of you GFYers).

If what your looking for is referral traffic from other sites, I'm new in this arena, so I'm sure there are those far more knowledgeable in that area than I who can advise you.

Cheers!

Its one thing to have them indexed but if you have 1 million pages and they are all on page 1 million of google it wont do any good. need good keywords and phrases and backlinks, and time.

Just looked at your Google situation.

Getting 900,000 pages crawled and indexed puts you in a good place, but you've got a major problem with thin content. Out of all those indexed pages, Google only sees 600 as unique, so as far as you're concerned, you're spreading 600 pages worth of link juice over 900,000 pages.

Your biggest problem here is probably with the tagging. There are 300,000 tag pages indexed, but only 232 make it into the main index. The lowest hanging fruit you can grab would be to make it so the tag pages don't get indexed. You can do that by putting this in the head (but only do it on the tag pages):

Code:
<META NAME=?ROBOTS? CONTENT=?NOINDEX, FOLLOW?>
If you do this, you should see your indexed page count drop significantly, but the ones with good content will get all the link juice that was spread over hundreds of thousands of rejects.

One other thing is you've got 2 domains going on, the www and no www, so pick one and 301 the other. That should clear out a lot of garbage.

Maybe Google tagged your website as a content farm, in this case you can delete it. Pray that it didn't...
